What to do if the monitor enters sleep mode
If your monitor has gone into sleep mode (common after a long period of inactivity), you can try the following to resolve the issue:
1. Check the connection: Make sure the power cable and video signal cable (such as HDMI, VGA, etc.) are firmly connected and not loose or disconnected. If the connection is poor, re-plug and make sure the connection is secure.
2. Press a button: Try pressing any button on the keyboard or mouse, or click the left mouse button, which usually wakes up the monitor. If nothing happens, you can also try pressing the power button on the monitor.
3. Adjust power settings: Check your computer's power settings to make sure the display doesn't automatically turn off when the computer goes to sleep. You can find this option in the Control Panel (Windows) or System Preferences (Mac).
4. Check the monitor settings: Check the menu settings of the monitor itself to see if the automatic sleep or energy saving mode is enabled. Look for setting options such as "sleep mode", "sleep mode", "energy saving mode" in the menu, and turn them off or adjust them to the appropriate configuration.
5. Update the driver: Make sure the monitor driver on your computer is up to date. You can go to the monitor manufacturer's official website or the computer manufacturer's support page to download and install the latest driver.
6. Check the power supply: Make sure the power supply is stable and there is no power failure or insufficient power. You can try connecting to another power outlet or using another power cord for testing.
What to do if the monitor setting is only 6 seconds
If your monitor is set to only 6 seconds, which means the time for the setting menu to close automatically is very short, you can try the following methods to extend the menu display time:
1. Button combination: Consult your monitor's user manual or refer to the button labels on the monitor and try to use a specific button combination to enter the menu setting mode. Different models of monitors may use different button combinations, and common combinations include pressing and holding the setup button or menu button plus other buttons (such as the up and down arrow keys).
2. Find the menu options: Once you enter the menu setting mode, browse the menu options to find the settings related to the menu display time, sleep time or automatic shutdown. Usually, these options are placed in the energy saving options or sleep options of the display setting menu.
3. Adjust the time setting: After finding the relevant option, adjust the value of the menu display time. Increase its value to the time you want, such as 30 seconds, 1 minute, or longer.
4. Save Changes: Confirm and save your setting changes. On the menu options, there is usually a Save or Confirm option, select this option to save your time settings.
How to set the monitor screen refresh rate
To set the screen refresh rate of your monitor, you can follow these steps:
1. Open the display settings: In Windows, right-click a blank area on the desktop and select "Display Settings" or "Screen Resolution" to open the display settings window. In Mac, click the Apple menu, select "System Preferences", and then click the "Display" option.
2. Navigate to the screen settings: In the display settings window, you will see a screen layout diagram and related options. In Windows, click "Advanced display settings" or "Display adapter properties" to open the display adapter's properties window; in Mac, click the "Display" tab and select the "Display" option in the menu below.
3. Enter the display adapter properties: In Windows, after opening the display adapter properties window, click the "Display Device Properties" or "Display Properties" tab. In Mac, click the "Display" option and select the "Display" option in the menu below.
4. Adjust the refresh rate: In the display adapter properties window, you will see an option for refresh rate (in Hertz). Common refresh rates include 60Hz, 75Hz, and 144Hz. Select the refresh rate you want to set, and then click the "Apply" or "Confirm" button to save the changes.
5. Check and confirm the refresh rate: Confirm that the refresh rate displayed on your monitor has been updated. You can observe whether the screen becomes smoother, or check the current refresh rate value in the display adapter properties window.
It is important to note that the range of refresh rates available depends on the hardware specifications of your display adapter and monitor. If a specific refresh rate is not available, it is likely that the hardware does not support it. Make sure that the refresh rate you choose is compatible with the specifications of your monitor and display adapter.
Also, please note that at higher refresh rates, the screen refreshes faster, providing a smoother image, but also consumes more system resources. When choosing a higher refresh rate, make sure your hardware and graphics configuration can support it for best results.
