The differential and the main reducer play different roles in the transmission system of the car. The main reducer is a device used to reduce the output speed of the engine. It reduces the high-speed and low-torque engine output speed to a low-speed and high-torque speed suitable for vehicle driving through gear transmission. The differential is used to control the speed difference of the wheels on both sides of the drive shaft so that they can rotate at different speeds. The main differences can be summarized as follows:
1. Different functions: The main reducer is used to reduce the output speed of the engine and provide appropriate torque; while the differential is used to solve the problem of the difference in rotation speed of the wheels when turning.

4. Different goals: The goal of the main reducer is to reduce the engine speed and provide appropriate torque to drive the car forward; while the goal of the differential is to solve the difference in wheel rotation speed when turning, and maintain controllability and stability.
5. Different characteristics: The main reducer is usually a fixed ratio of deceleration, that is, the ratio of input and output speeds is fixed; while the differential dynamically adjusts the speed difference according to actual needs, so that the two wheels rotate at a suitable speed.
It can be seen that the differential and the main reducer have different roles and positions in the automobile transmission system. Although both are achieved through gear transmission, their goals and functions are different. The main function of the differential is to solve the problem of wheel speed differences when turning, and provide better controllability and stability. The main reducer is used to reduce the engine output speed and provide appropriate torque to drive the vehicle forward. The two cooperate with each other to ensure the smooth driving of the car.
