PLC ladder diagram programming language is a programming language used to write automation applications. Its name comes from the shape of the ladder diagram, each ladder represents a logical function block. Ladder diagram programming language is a graphical programming language with the advantage of being easy to understand and debug, which makes it one of the most popular programming languages in automation applications.
In the PLC ladder diagram programming language, programmers build automated control processes by connecting different logic function blocks together. The logic function block can be a standard logic operation, such as AND, OR, NOT, or a more advanced function block, such as a counter, timer, etc.
The PLC ladder programming language uses true/false logic values to represent states and can use a variety of operators and function blocks to perform logical operations. The ladder programming language can also interact with sensors, actuators, and other hardware devices.
In general, PLC ladder diagram programming language is an intuitive and easy-to-understand programming language suitable for the design and development of automation applications.
There are mainly the following types of PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) ladder diagram programming languages:
1. Ladder Diagram: The most commonly used PLC programming language. It uses ladder symbols to represent logical functions such as input, output, and, or, not, etc.
2. Function Block Diagram: This programming language is similar to a flow chart, breaking down complex operations into different modules, each of which represents a function block.
3. Structured Text: It uses a structured approach similar to C language for programming, and can use loops, conditional statements, data types, functions, etc.
4. Instruction List: It is programmed using an instruction list similar to assembly language, and each instruction corresponds to a specific PLC operation.
5. Sequential Function Chart: It uses a diagram to show the flow of a program. Each box represents a specific function and the arrows indicate the direction of the program flow.
The characteristics of PLC ladder diagram programming language include:
1. Graphical: PLC ladder diagram programming language uses a graphical approach to program, making the program more intuitive, easier to understand and debug.
2. Simple logic: The code logic of PLC ladder diagram programming language is relatively simple, usually only involving numerical judgment and Boolean operations. In addition, the language does not have complex data types and operations.
3. Real-time response: PLC ladder diagram programming language can respond to changes in input signals in real time and execute corresponding control logic in a timely manner, ensuring the real-time and stability of the control system.
4. Easy to maintain: Since the code of PLC ladder diagram programming language is relatively simple and intuitive, it is easy to maintain and upgrade.
5. Easy to expand: PLC ladder diagram programming language supports modular programming, which allows the program to be developed modularly, making it easier to expand and reuse the program.
