Handheld vacuum cleaners are becoming more and more popular in the market due to their advantages such as easy mobility, strong suction, convenient charging, fashionable appearance and powerful functions, and are rapidly replacing the earlier "corded" vacuum cleaners. Brushless DC motors (BLDC) are the core components of handheld vacuum cleaners, which directly determine the key user experience such as the noise level of the whole machine and the product life. They have the following advantages:
① Low noise, smooth operation
② Small size, light weight, high power density
③ High reliability and long service life
④ High speed, strong suction and good cleaning effect
In response to this rapidly developing small household appliance application, Toulwei launched a 24V handheld vacuum cleaner solution based on TMI82312. This solution is a 24V three-phase sensorless reference design board controlled by sine wave FOC, using the latest TMI82312 single-chip controller.
TMI82312 is a dual-core processor that integrates the motor FOC control core and 51 core, 3-way 100V N+N MOS tube driver and 5V LDO. The hardware motor control module is based on the FOC field-oriented control of the sliding mode observer. Users only need to configure basic parameters and do not need to spend time on code development at the motor control level. The system control 51 core is completely open to users and is equipped with multiple control program submodules, which can easily realize constant speed and constant power control. In addition, the motor has good testability and it is easy to realize low noise and low jitter operation of motors of different specifications and models.
Benefiting from the highly integrated 2-in-1 design concept, the solution has very few peripheral components. Its typical application block diagram is as follows:
