Saifang Technology is listed in the 2021 China Venture Capital List and the Sharp Company List: the only manufacturer selected for high-performance RISC-V processors
Recently, the 2021 ChinaVenture 100 Sharp Companies list was released. A total of 19 semiconductor and integrated circuit companies were listed, and Saifang Technology became the "only" high-performance RISC-V processor chip company on the list.
In recent years, from biomedicine to artificial intelligence, from chip semiconductors to advanced manufacturing, Chinese companies are using continuous innovation to break through the existing industrial structure, and innovation has become the source of a new round of development for Chinese companies. Against this background, China Venture Capital Research Institute comprehensively selected 100 new economic companies with the most innovation and growth potential from more than 800 companies based on the three dimensions of external attention, industrial synergy and industrial influence.
In 2021, Saifang Technology completed its A+ round of financing, with a total financing amount of more than 1 billion yuan. This round of financing was led by Shenzhen Guoke Ruihua Phase III Equity Investment Fund Partnership (hereinafter referred to as Guoke Ruihua) and China Internet Investment Fund (hereinafter referred to as China Internet Investment Fund). In addition to the A+ round lead investors, other investors include Dr. Li Jiajie, member of the Standing Committee of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, Chairman of Henderson Land Development Co., Ltd. and Chairman of Hong Kong and China Gas Co., Ltd., Chengcheng Capital and SoftBank Asia.
Entering the 2021 ChinaVenture Top 100 Sharp Companies list is another recognition of Saifang Technology by the capital community.
Saifang Technology helps RISC-V chip business take off
In recent years, the chip supply chain has become increasingly problematic, and reform and innovation are imminent. RISC-V, as a completely open source instruction set architecture, has been "endowed with affection" in the era of innovation in China's chip industry. The prospects of RISC-V are beyond words. Ni Guangnan, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, once said: "In the future global chip architecture landscape, RISC-V will definitely occupy one-third of the world."
Saifang Technology is one of the first Chinese companies to devote themselves to the RISC-V business. The founding team of Saifang Technology can be described as "luxurious". Team members come from internationally renowned semiconductor companies such as Intel, Huawei HiSilicon, HP, and Spreadtrum. They have devoted themselves to the new business of RISC-V with decades of R&D and management experience. "Since its inception, Saifang Technology has continued to iterate and evolve, promoting the high-end development of RISC-V processors and the gradual maturity of the ecosystem." Saifang Technology founder and CEO Xu Tao said.
"It takes a long time to start a new journey." Since its establishment in 2018, Saifang Technology has developed rapidly. As a completely independent local enterprise, Saifang Technology has opened up a broad road of innovation in China. Saifang Technology's product family continues to be enriched, and its core technology continues to evolve. It has the world's most comprehensive high-performance microprocessor core, the world's first RISC-V intelligent vision platform, and the world's first RISC-V single-board computer... In just a few years, Saifang Technology has delivered a brilliant answer. At present, Saifang Technology has established R&D centers in Shanghai, Guangdong, Beijing, Chengdu, Malaysia, Singapore and other places, and its business is spread all over the world.
What is the future of chip innovation? Saifang Technology has never stopped in its pursuit of answers.
"RISC-V Software and Hardware Ecosystem Leader" fulfills its mission with actions
At the beginning of 2022, the world's first generation of cost-effective RISC-V single-board computer "Fang Starlight VisionFive" completed mass production and testing, and began to ship, which is good news for the majority of RISC-V developers. For a long time, due to the lack of mid-to-high-end RISC-V hardware development boards, the further development of the RISC-V software ecosystem has faced a gap. This "masterpiece" of Saifang Technology fills the gap in the industry's RISC-V ecosystem construction development board, which will help accelerate the global RISC-V technology iteration, promote the improvement and development of the open source software ecosystem, and drive the realization of more top-level innovative applications of RISC-V.
As the "leader of RISC-V software and hardware ecosystem", Saifang Technology shoulders the mission of building the RISC-V ecosystem.
As a senior member of the RISC-V International Association, Saifang Technology has seats on the board of directors and the technical steering committee, and participates in the association's strategic planning, the formulation of RISC-V industry standards and technical routes. Saifang Technology cooperates with partners in the global RISC-V system to jointly promote the development of the RISC-V ecosystem and community diversity, and promote the development and growth of the RISC-V ecosystem.
In open source software communities such as Fedora, openSUSE, openEuler, OpenHarmony, and Ubuntu, Saifang Technology can be seen everywhere. Saifang Technology, together with its software ecosystem partners, jointly promotes the porting and optimization of key basic software and tool chains on RISC-V. In order to promote the development of the RISC-V application ecosystem, Saifang Technology has successively signed strategic cooperation agreements with upstream and downstream partners in the industry chain such as Runhe Software, Unisoc, and Hong Kong Energy to jointly promote the development, implementation, and implementation of RISC-V related technologies and products.
First to knock on the door of RISC-V high-performance application field
Saifang Technology has achieved a leading position in the field of RISC-V high-performance applications. Unlike most RISC-V chip companies that focus on the low-end market, Saifang Technology has always been targeting the mid-to-high-end market.
As the saying goes, "slow and steady wins the race", Saifang Technology has devoted itself to honing its technology and finally reaped the rewards.
At the first Dishui Lake China RISC-V Industry Forum at the end of 2021, Zhao Jing, senior product manager of Saifang Technology, said that the world's first high-performance RISC-V SoC "Jiang·Jinghong 7110 (JH7110)" developed by Saifang Technology will be mass-produced in the second quarter of 2022. Fang·Jinghong 7110 can complete various complex video image processing and intelligent visual computing, meet the various visual real-time processing requirements of the edge, and can be widely used in cloud computing, industrial control, NAS, tablet computers, HMI human-machine interface and other fields.
At the RISC-V Summit 2021 conference at the end of last year, Saifang Technology announced that the world's highest-performance RISC-V CPU Core IP "Fang Tianshu Dubhe" independently developed by Saifang Technology was officially delivered to customers. Fang Tianshu is the highest-performance RISC-V processor core currently available on the market, with performance comparable to ARM A76. The operating frequency of Fang Tianshu can reach up to 2GHz@TSMC 12nm, SPECint2006 8.9/Hz, Dhrystone 6.6 DMIPS/MHz, CoreMark 7.6/MHz. Fang Tianshu can be used in high-end application fields such as data centers, PCs, mobile devices, high-performance network communications, and machine learning. At the 2021 China ICCAD, Zhou Jie, senior sales director of Saifang Technology, said that Saifang Technology will tape out based on Fang Tianshu in the future.
When will RISC-V be able to enter the field of high-performance applications? Saifang Technology may have given the answer.
