August 18, 2021 – Mouser Electronics, Inc., the premier New Product Introduction (NPI) and widest available semiconductor distributor, is now stocking the AS6040 ultrasonic flow meter from ScioSense , an ultra-low power flow meter designed for industrial and residential gas meters, and also suitable for water meters.
The ScioSense AS6040 distributed by Mouser integrates four system modules: monitor, analog front end, post-processing and interface, forming a single-chip solution for measuring flow. Among them, the monitor module integrates an ultra-low power 32-bit CPU to manage all tasks, making the AS6040 autonomous; the front-end module integrates a high-voltage driver, a programmable gain amplifier and a bias-stabilized comparator in the receiving path, and also has accurate flight time measurement, amplitude measurement and temperature measurement. The flow meter uses a serial peripheral interface (SPI) bus, which is compatible with a variety of host microcontrollers, simplifying integration.
Mouser also stocks the AS6031 ultrasonic flow meter. This product combines precise measurement with complex flow calculations, simplifying the design of the next generation of ultrasonic water and heat meters. Based on the TDC-GP30 platform, the AS6031 uses the same high-performance front end to drive the sensor and process the received signal to extract the time-of-flight information. The AS6031 is also equipped with an additional programmable amplifier, so it can handle weaker received amplitudes.
The AS6040 and AS6031 flow meters have companion AS6040 development tools and AS6031 development tools, respectively. These toolkits support the functions required for standard water and heat meters and provide user-friendly configurations, making it faster and easier to start development and evaluation.
