In 2019, the scale of China's machine vision market was 6.55 billion yuan (this data does not include the scale of the computer vision market), a year-on-year increase of 21.77%. The compound growth rate from 2014 to 2019 was 28.36%. GGII predicts that by 2023, the scale of China's machine vision market will reach 15.56 billion yuan.
"By 2025, humans will enter the era of 'super vision'. We will see what was previously invisible and perceive what was previously imperceptible. At the same time, with 'human-machine co-creation', 97% of companies will be armed with intelligence. Therefore, we predict that by 2025, 14% of households worldwide will own home smart robots ; intelligence will completely change our lives," said a relevant Huawei official.
There are many giants in the field of machine vision in the world, but in the Chinese market, there are more companies with small scale and complex business barriers. Many traditional security companies have terminals but no cloud. In February this year, Huawei Smart Security was officially renamed "Huawei HoloSens Machine Vision", and the market finally welcomed a game-changer.
It is understood that the application of machine vision is currently extending from the industrial field to the non-industrial field to achieve the positioning, detection, measurement, identification and judgment of objects. The main application fields of machine vision include intelligent security, consumer electronics, industrial vision, ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System), AGV (Automated Guided Vehicle), robots, etc.
Industry observer Hong Shibin said that as a future multi-scenario solution, there is a huge gap and uncertainty in the process of machine vision from "seeing clearly" to "understanding" to "application". In addition, machine vision is not a single technology, but a complete integrated solution that integrates multiple disciplines and application technologies. Enterprises need to take into account the depth of core technology and the breadth of layout, and no shortcomings are allowed. Therefore, it is a comprehensive review of the strength of enterprises.
"Although artificial intelligence is highly anticipated, its computing power is expensive, the algorithm cost is high, and the ecosystem is closed. Through the implementation of AI, Huawei's intelligent capture and recognition cameras have reached the hundred-yuan level. We will make ordinary feature phones exit the stage of history." said Duan Aiguo, President of Huawei's machine vision field.
