The National Space Administration officially announced that my country's planetary exploration mission will be named "Tianwen" and my country's first Mars exploration mission will be named "Tianwen-1". At the same time, the logo of my country's first Mars exploration was announced as "Lanxing Jiutian". In addition, the global solicitation activity for the name of my country's Mars rover is about to start.
In addition, my country is developing its first Mars exploration project. According to the plan, my country will launch a Mars probe via the Long March 5 in 2020, and achieve orbiting, landing and patrol exploration of Mars in one launch. After about seven months of flight, the Mars probe will arrive on Mars.
According to experts related to China's first Mars exploration mission, the implementation steps of my country's Mars exploration mission are: use the Long March 5 rocket to launch the Mars probe into the Earth-Mars transfer orbit, and then with the support of the ground measurement and control system, through multiple orbital maneuvers and mid-course corrections, brake at the perigee, enter the elliptical orbit around Mars, and run to the selected entry window. The probe will perform orbit reduction control and release the lander. After the lander enters the Martian atmosphere, it will softly land through aerodynamic shape, parachute, engine, multi-stage deceleration and landing recoil. After the separation of the rover and the landing platform, regional patrol exploration and some related engineering practice activities will be carried out. The orbiter will provide a relay communication link for the rover and carry out orbiting scientific exploration.
It is worth mentioning that 50 years ago today, the Long March 1 carrier rocket successfully launched the Dongfanghong-1 satellite, officially opening the space age for China. 50 years later, although the Dongfanghong-1 has long ceased to work, it is still flying around the earth. The "Dongfanghong-1" satellite is the first artificial earth satellite launched by China. It was successfully launched at the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center on April 24, 1970, thus creating a new era in China's space history, making China the fifth country in the world to independently develop and launch an artificial earth satellite after the Soviet Union, the United States, France and Japan.
