Recently, the Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) of the U.S. Department of Commerce announced that the deadline for public comments on Huawei's Temporary General License (TGL) will be postponed from the original March 25 to April 22. The previous comment period was from March 10 to 25.
According to the statement, BIS is seeking advice on possible extensions of the temporary general license for Huawei and its non-U.S. affiliates on the Entity List. At the same time, the U.S. Department of Commerce's decision earlier this month to extend Huawei's temporary general license until May 15, 2020 remains in effect.

It is reported that on March 10 this year, BIS announced that it would conduct a public consultation on the extension of Huawei's temporary general license from March 10 to 25, 2020; at the same time, extend Huawei's temporary license to May 15, 2020.
This is the fifth time the United States has postponed the trade ban on Huawei's existing products and services in the United States.
On May 15, 2019, the U.S. Department of Commerce added Huawei and its 68 affiliates to the so-called “Entity List”. On May 21, it issued a 90-day extension license for the first time; on August 17, 2019, it extended the temporary license for a second time by 90 days; on November 19, 2019, it extended the ban license for a third time for 90 days; on February 13, 2020, it extended the ban license for a fourth time for 45 days, until April 1, 2020.
Under the Temporary General License, the United States amended the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) to allow certain products and technologies to continue to be exported and transferred to Huawei, including its non-U.S. affiliates.
But this does not mean that the United States will let Huawei go. In fact, in the middle of this month, US President Trump just signed a bill that will prohibit US telecom operators from using government funds to purchase network equipment from Huawei and ZTE.
However, the United States has never stopped suppressing Huawei. Not long ago, US President Trump just signed a bill that will prohibit US telecom operators from using government funds to purchase network equipment from Huawei and ZTE.
