Siemens Digital Industrial Software has reached a strategic partnership with BYD, a Chinese automobile manufacturer and leader in new energy vehicles. Through complete Siemens solutions, it helps BYD build a digital enterprise strategy and uses digital twin technology to provide detailed insights into its product development and production operation decisions. Connecting the digital thread throughout the product lifecycle (PLM) with the digital twin can provide BYD with faster development speed and optimized manufacturing capabilities, while enabling it to gain better insights and flexibility in product and factory operations, thereby improving future business performance.

“Siemens is an important partner in helping us realize the digital transformation of our enterprise,” said He Yipeng, General Manager of BYD Europe GmbH. “By comprehensively reviewing all business areas, we believe that digital construction will be a key driver for future success.”

BYD plans to implement digital solutions across its entire business, using digital twins to achieve seamless integration of digital products, digital production and digital operations. Based on this plan, BYD will deploy Siemens' Xcelerator solution portfolio, including computer-aided design software NX™, product lifecycle management platform Teamcenter® and simulation testing software Simcenter™. In addition, this partnership will be further deepened to help BYD open up enterprise data flows and promote the realization of its enterprise digitalization and "Industry 4.0" corporate strategic goals.

"BYD is a high-tech enterprise dedicated to meeting people's yearning for a better life with technological innovation. From energy acquisition and storage to application, it builds zero-emission new energy solutions in all aspects. Today, autonomous driving, electrification, networking and shared mobility are driving changes in the transportation industry. To stay ahead of the curve, we must rely on the power of next-generation design and development tools," said Liang Naiming, Global Senior Vice President of Siemens Digital Industries Software and Managing Director of Greater China. "As a strategic partner of BYD, Siemens will be committed to providing better support and quality services to jointly promote the innovation process of China's automotive industry."
