Rockwell Automation Earns Perfect Score in Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s 18th Annual Assessment of LBGTQ+ Workplace Equality
Rockwell Automation, Inc. (NYSE: ROK) today announced that it received a perfect score in the 2020 Corporate Equality Index (CEI), a national benchmark survey and report from the Human Rights Campaign Foundation that assesses corporate policies and practices related to equality for LGBTQ+ people in the workplace.
“Rockwell Automation is proud to receive this honor for the eighth consecutive year. We are committed to creating a culture where our employees can and want to do their best work,” said Blake Moret, chairman and CEO of Rockwell Automation. “Our mission is to empower our employees to feel comfortable being their authentic selves at work every day.”
Officially launched in 2002, the CEI assessment has become the plan and standard followed by American companies in the evolving field of workplace equality for the LGBTQ+ community, covering multiple indicators such as employee protection, equality and inclusion, best practices in LGBTQ+ internal training and education, and social responsibility. Rockwell Automation's emphasis on an inclusive corporate culture is reflected in all aspects of the company, such as the company's non-discrimination policy, which aims to ensure that all employees have equal rights and protection in areas such as medical benefits. In addition, Rockwell Automation's ROKOut employee resource team can also provide real-time advice on workplace issues to help employees find directions and solutions that are suitable for them.
Rockwell Automation also emphasizes inclusive thinking in talent recruitment, one of the important manifestations of which is to establish cooperation with a non-profit professional association for LGBTQ+ groups in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) professionals. Through cooperation, Rockwell Automation can establish connections with the STEM community and discuss future innovation and job opportunities with automation-related professionals.
“It’s rewarding to work at Rockwell Automation, a company that strives to build an inclusive culture every day,” said Rachael Anderson, ROKOut LGBTQ+ Employee Resource Group Leader. “With the support of our colleagues, we are able to promote and build a workplace that is welcoming to all.”
