Recently, Continental signed a joint venture cooperation memorandum with EasyMile of France and Shanghai Jiading Industrial Zone. The three parties are committed to jointly developing and promoting driverless travel service solutions in China. Through this cooperation, they will effectively combine their respective advantages and jointly commit to the implementation of future travel solutions in China.
Huo Bin, member of the global board of directors of Continental's Chassis & Safety Division and general manager of Continental China, said: "This year, Continental introduced the autonomous driving technology development platform CUbE in China in the hope of developing autonomous driving solutions suitable for China's national conditions and actively promoting the development of local intelligent transportation. This tripartite cooperation is also an important measure for Continental to take root in the market."
It is understood that the driverless car CUbE is the development platform of Continental's driverless technology, based on the driverless car EZ10 and autonomous driving software developed by France's EasyMile. This product can achieve precise positioning with the help of laser radar, camera and radar sensors, and can also identify obstacles and potential road hazards in a timely manner. It does not require manual driving and has no steering wheel or brake pedal.
At present, the technologies and products used in CUbE have been mass-produced and put into use in the United States, Japan, China, Singapore, Germany and other countries. This tripartite cooperation will undoubtedly effectively combine their respective advantages and work together to implement future travel solutions in China.
Founded in 2014, EasyMile is an expert in autonomous driving and software. The company has deployed about 250 autonomous driving projects, transporting more than 320,000 people and traveling more than 600,000 kilometers. In fact, Continental's first mass production project of autonomous driving technology was realized on the EasyMile EZ10 autonomous driving vehicle, such as the radar system.
Shanghai Jiading Industrial Zone is a municipal industrial park. With the goal of building a "future manufacturing base", it has formed a new pattern of industrial economic development dominated by advanced manufacturing and high-tech industries.
