After announcing plans to launch electric vehicles in 2018, FCA's car manufacturing plans will further target the field of power battery production.

 

News subject: Fiat (Fabbrica Italiana Automobili Torino, abbreviated as FIAT), a famous Italian automobile manufacturer and one of the top ten automobile companies in the world, was founded in 1899 and is headquartered in Turin, the industrial center of Italy and the capital of Piedmont.

In April 1999, Nanjing Fiat was established, and Fiat entered China for the first time as a joint venture. In December 2007, the cooperation relationship with Nanjing Automobile Group was officially terminated. In March 2010, Fiat and GAC Group jointly established GAC Fiat. The current models on sale include Fiat Viaggio, Viaggio, Fiat 500, and Fiat Fiat Plus.

 

In addition, retail and dealer financing, leasing and rental services supporting the Group's automotive business are provided through subsidiaries, joint ventures and commercial arrangements with third-party financial institutions.

 

According to reports, FCA recently stated that the company will build a new battery assembly plant at its Mirafioli plant in Turin, Italy, with an initial investment of 50 million euros (about 56 million US dollars).

 

FCA said in a statement that the company will launch a number of new-generation pure electric models, and the batteries produced by the new factory will be used in these models.

 

Last year, FCA announced a plan to invest 5 billion euros (about 5.6 billion U.S. dollars) in Italy between 2019 and 2021 to help the group launch its first batch of pure electric and hybrid models and at the same time increase the capacity utilization of its Italian factories. This investment in the construction of a battery factory is part of this plan. FCA said that the construction of the new battery factory will start early next year.

 

FCA Group plans to launch a pure electric version of the Fiat 500 small car, Maserati's first hybrid and electric model, hybrid versions of the Jeep Compass and Renegade, and a mild hybrid version of the Panda small car between 2020 and 2021.
