Apple is considering using its June WWDC developer conference to reveal a revamped Mac Pro, which has been updated for several years. While Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference is usually a software-focused event, this hardware announcement makes sense because the Mac Pro is for demanding users like developers, who are among the attendees.
At the same time, Apple may start making its own external display again. Bloomberg believes that it will appear together with the Mac Pro (Mac Pro does not have a display). Leaked information shows that the display will support HDR and is a 31.6-inch 6K screen. The current miniLED backlight structure will improve the contrast of the display and narrow the gap with OLED.
Apple is also expected to announce a slew of hardware this year, but there's no clear timeline. A MacBook Pro with a 16-inch screen and a new design is said to be in the works, as well as an upgraded 13-inch model with support for up to 32GB of memory. However, Apple typically refreshes its MacBook line in the fall. Another rumor suggests Apple is developing a Tile-like tracking device, which 9to5Mac says could be announced in September.
WWDC kicks off on June 3, and while rumors about the hardware remain vague at the moment, there are plenty of details about what to expect in terms of software updates. This includes iOS dark mode, the ability to run iPad apps on the Mac, the Screen Time app and Siri Shortcuts on the Mac, and updates to the iPad home screen and multitasking.
