The tens of millions of dollars in A3 round of financing led by Dongfeng Motor has brought the low-key AutoX to the surface. This investment is currently the largest investment by a mainstream Chinese automaker in the field of L4 autonomous driving .

SAIC has also previously invested in AutoX. It seems that AutoX has established in-depth cooperative relationships with two of the four major automobile groups in China.

 

AutoX is absolutely serious about cooperating with car manufacturers. Previously, BYD released the Qin Pro equipped with AutoX's 360-degree panoramic lidar and camera deep fusion sensor kit. This is also the first cooperation between AutoX and BYD in the field of autonomous driving.

 

AutoX was founded in Silicon Valley in September 2016, focusing on full-stack solutions for L4/L5 autonomous driving . With China's huge automobile market as a foundation, AutoX's driverless technology can easily take root. For this reason, at the end of January this year, AutoX established its China R&D headquarters in Nanshan District, Shenzhen, and jointly designated a driverless demonstration zone with the Shenzhen Municipal Government, planning to build a large-scale driverless demonstration fleet and expand the national market at the same time.

 

 

According to AutoX, as of now, AutoX is the only Chinese driverless company that has passed the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) and NHSTA L4 driverless safety standard certification. In terms of overseas development, AutoX's self-driving car has been in public trial operation in Silicon Valley for 8 months, and not long ago, AutoX's test car also successfully took to the streets in Shenzhen's Nanshan commercial district.

 

In the situation where the domestic autonomous driving market is almost monopolized by the "Baidu system", AutoX is a fresh blood with the flavor of Silicon Valley. With this round of financing, AutoX is also constantly expanding its team and recruiting talents in technology, operations, business and government relations. So far, AutoX has successfully joined the circle of China's leading autonomous driving players composed of Baidu, Pony.ai, and WeRide Jingchi. It is worth looking forward to who will be the first to come up with amazing products in the future.
