Battery installations in July: CATL 19GWh, BYD 9GWh

In July, my country's battery production was 97.8GWh, up 8.6% from the previous month and 33.1% from the previous year. Among them, the installed capacity of power batteries was 41.6GWh, down 2.9% from the previous month and up 29.0% from the previous year. The installation of power batteries only accounted for 45% of the battery production.

Among the power batteries installed, the lithium iron phosphate battery decreased compared with the previous month. In July, the installed capacity of lithium iron phosphate batteries was 30.1GWh, accounting for 72.5% of the total installed capacity, a decrease of 4.8% month-on-month and an increase of 39.2% year-on-year; the installed capacity of ternary batteries was 11.4GWh, accounting for 27.3% of the total installed capacity, an increase of 2.3% month-on-month and an increase of 7.5% year-on-year.

From January to July, my country's cumulative battery production was 521.8GWh, a cumulative year-on-year increase of 36.2%. During the same period, my country's cumulative installed capacity of power batteries was 244.9GWh, a cumulative year-on-year increase of 32.8%. The growth rate of battery production is obviously fast. As of July this year, the installed capacity of power batteries accounted for 47% of battery production. In terms of monthly, this proportion has dropped from 50% at the beginning of the year to 45% in July, showing a downward trend month by month.

From the perspective of battery types installed, lithium iron phosphate batteries have a higher growth rate. From January to July, the cumulative installed capacity of lithium iron phosphate batteries was 171.1GWh, accounting for 69.9% of the total installed capacity, with a cumulative year-on-year growth of 36.3%; the cumulative installed capacity of ternary batteries was 73.6GWh, accounting for 30.1% of the total installed capacity, with a cumulative year-on-year growth of 25.7%.
