Application Technology丨Yanfeng SafeUnit® Seat-centric integrated safety technology
Application field: Intelligent cockpit
Unique advantages:
Cars are transforming from transportation to the "third mobile space" as an expansion and extension of life scenes. In the new smart cockpit scenario, the large-angle reclining adjustment of the seat back, such as zero gravity, lying down sitting position, etc., and the seat movement trajectory, such as rotation, long-distance sliding, etc., are very different from those in the traditional cockpit. The seats in the cockpit are becoming more and more flexible, and all occupants may exist in the same car in different sitting positions, lying down or turning around. However, the safety protection regulations for lying and reclining seats have not yet been perfected; the standards of zero-gravity seats for various seat manufacturers are not unified; and the existing systems do not provide sufficient protection for occupant safety. Since the current restraint system is developed based on a neutral or upright sitting position, when it is out of the established position, its safety restraint system and airbag solution not only cannot provide the same protection in these cases, but may increase the risk of accidental injury to key parts of the body due to displacement. To this end, Yanfeng has begun to study safety solutions that meet future travel needs since 2020, trying to find answers to this increasingly prominent industry problem.
Yanfeng SafeUnit® can adapt to complex application scenarios of cockpit safety, such as various collision scenarios, and provide complete protection from upright sitting position, working position to relaxation position; as an independent safety system, all the restraint products it contains are integrated into the seat; at the same time, the integrated solution provides a comfortable and safe sitting posture, improving the driving experience in all aspects.
The industry's first large-angle lying safety protection technology is of great significance to the development of future automobile safety. Yanfeng SafeUnit®, a seat-centric integrated safety technology as Yanfeng's core strategic product line, has created a new safety protection system. The main technologies include pre-crash return system, FUS follow-up seat, ABTS seat integrated seat belt, HAB helmet airbag, BAB cushion airbag, etc.
Application scenarios:
Yanfeng SafeUnit® provides occupant protection in frontal, side, small overlap and rollover collision scenarios; providing comprehensive protection for occupants from the upright seating position, to the working position, to the relaxing position.
Pre-crash seat quick return: Before a collision occurs, the seat is adjusted from a high-angle lying position to an upright sitting position to meet the posture requirements of the occupant protection and restraint systems.
Follow up Seat: After a collision occurs, the backrest can move with the seat belt to improve the restraint effect of the seat belt on the occupants and reduce occupant injuries.
Seat-integrated safety belts (ABTS): including EMVSR/EVSR electronic mechanical vehicle-sensing retractor/electronic vehicle-sensing retractor, which can realize the locking function of the seat belt at different seat back angles.
Hoodie Airbag fully wraps around the airbag to protect occupants in various collision scenarios (front/side/small overlap/rollover, etc.).
The Buttock Airbag cushion airbag can offset the lumbar force in the early stage of a collision and relieve the collision energy of the upper torso.
Future prospects:
Solvable industry/technical bottlenecks: Currently, there are no evaluation standards and corresponding occupant protection solutions in the industry for occupant protection in zero-gravity posture/lying sitting posture; Yanfeng has pioneered a new safety protection strategy: Yanfeng SafeUnit® seat-centric integrated safety technology to address the limitations of traditional safety protection strategies for large-angle lying posture protection.
