According to currently known information, in the next six years, Audi's electric vehicle production will begin at the Neckarsulm plant in Germany, the San José Chiapa plant in Mexico, and the Győr plant in Hungary.


At the same time, Audi also stated that it will only build new factories where additional production capacity is needed. The FAW Audi Changchun PPE factory in China will be put into production at the end of 2024.


In addition, Audi plans to cut the annual factory costs in half by 2033, and will gradually increase the proportion of electric vehicle production and reduce the proportion of fuel vehicle production from now on. Audi also plans to simplify the production process from the initial stage. By then, the Q6 e-tron pure electric vehicle The SUV will be assembled on the same production line as the A4 and A5 sedans.


Not only Audi, but its parent company Volkswagen also plans to stop producing and selling fuel vehicles. In the middle of last year, Volkswagen sales chief Klaus Zellmer said that the Volkswagen brand will stop selling traditional fuel vehicles in Europe by 2035. Switch to producing and selling all pure electric vehicles.


He specifically said, "In the European market, the Volkswagen brand will officially stop selling traditional fuel vehicles between 2033 and 2035; but in the Chinese and American markets, it will be later."
