Lithium prices are high and lithium mines are hard to find. Power battery suppliers are racking their brains to find a new path.
In response to investors' questions on November 18, Sunwanda stated that the company will further increase production scale and product yield based on orders on hand to create scale benefits and reduce production costs. At the same time, we will also actively upgrade and innovate battery products in terms of materials, processes, structures, etc. to reduce battery production costs.
Could sodium-ion batteries be one of the answers? Sodium-ion batteries have more stable chemical properties and lower raw material prices. However, in terms of energy density, there is a big gap with the current mainstream ternary batteries and lithium iron phosphate batteries. In the field of electric vehicles , the industry as a whole is still in the exploratory stage.
It is understood that Sunwanda’s current power battery technology path is mainly prismatic ternary batteries and prismatic lithium iron phosphate batteries. However, the company also has layouts in different technical fields such as sodium-ion batteries and solid-state batteries. Among them, it has multiple patents in the methods of sodium supplementation in sodium-ion batteries, sodium-ion batteries and their preparation methods.
Xinwangda pointed out that the company's sodium-ion battery samples are already undergoing testing and verification, and the project is progressing smoothly. The specific launch plan will be determined based on customer needs. Sunwoda began to officially lay out the electric vehicle battery business in 2008, providing product solutions from battery cells, battery modules, battery packs to power management systems. At the same time, the upstream extends to key links such as mineral raw materials and battery positive and negative electrode materials, and the downstream extends to industries such as electric vehicles, energy storage power stations, and power battery cascade utilization, forming a business blueprint for the integration of the entire industry chain.
