Recently, in order to further strengthen the management of the lithium-ion battery industry and promote the transformation and upgrading of the industry and technological progress, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology issued the "Standard Conditions for the Lithium-ion Battery Industry (2021 Edition)" and the "Management Measures for Standard Announcements of the Lithium-ion Battery Industry (2021 Edition)". The standard will be implemented from December 20, 2021!

It is worth noting that compared with the draft for comments, the relevant requirements of the new regulations have been lowered.
For example, in terms of power batteries, the "energy density of energy type batteries ≥ 180Wh/kg, and the energy density of battery packs ≥ 120Wh/kg" has been cancelled, and a separate indicator requirement for ternary materials has been added (single cell energy density ≥ 210Wh/kg, and battery pack energy density ≥ 150Wh/kg). For other energy types, the energy density of single cells is ≥ 160Wh/kg, and the energy density of battery packs is ≥ 115Wh/kg.
The power density of power-type single cells is reduced from 700W/kg to 500W/kg, and the power density of battery packs is reduced from 500W/kg to 350W/kg. The cycle life is ≥1000 times and the capacity retention rate is ≥80%.
Energy density of energy storage single cell is ≥145Wh/kg, and energy density of battery pack is reduced from 110Wh/kg to 100Wh/kg. Cycle life is ≥5000 times and capacity retention rate is ≥80%.
The requirements for positive electrode materials have also been reduced. For example, the specific capacity of lithium iron phosphate has been reduced from 150Ah/kg to 145Ah/kg, the specific capacity of ternary materials has been reduced from 175Ah/kg to 165Ah/kg, the specific capacity of lithium cobalt oxide has been reduced from 170Ah/kg to 160Ah/kg, and the specific capacity of lithium manganese oxide is ≥115Ah/kg.
