According to foreign media reports, Romeo Power and Dynexus Technology announced a partnership on September 14th local time to integrate Dynexus Technology's actionable battery performance and health sensors into Romeo Power's battery ecosystem. Romeo Power is an energy technology leader that provides advanced electrification solutions for complex commercial vehicle applications, while Dynexus Technology is a leader in battery sensing solutions and data-driven battery intelligence technology.

The technology developed by Dynexus will initially be used for new battery quality control and end-of-line battery verification, and can also be used for battery pack and battery pack diagnostics and prognostics , providing Romeo Power's customers with multiple opportunities to reduce total cost of ownership.
Dynexus' award-winning and patented inline rapid impedance spectroscopy (iRIS) sensor generates frequency-based, rich battery data in near real-time, providing information on the battery's physical and chemical status. Traditional measurement methods treat the battery as a black box, while Dynexus sensors can "see" inside the battery and generate a "fingerprint" or signature that uniquely describes the battery's monitoring condition, degradation, and safety.
Romeo Power will integrate the iRIS sensor into its proven battery system, providing new types of battery data, as until now, such sensors have only been available for research and not as commercial sensors or tools. This cutting-edge technology reduces the measurement time that normally takes 30 minutes to 10 seconds or less. As a result, this revolutionary technology can provide significant commercial opportunities for Romeo Power's advanced electrification solutions.
Currently, Dynexus Technology's iRIS system has been verified in Romeo Power's internal test laboratory, confirming its excellent accuracy and repeatability. In addition, the iRIS system has a high voltage and can measure under dynamic battery conditions. In addition to screening and quality control applications, Romeo Power also plans to use iRIS in the next generation of battery systems, and it is expected to start road testing by 2022. This integrated technology is also a complementary measure for Romeo Power's sustainable transformation, as the technology can also increase battery reuse and evaluate the second life of the battery.
