In the field of automated driving, Tesla is definitely one of the most hardworking car companies in terms of publicity. Now Musk is back to show off again! Recently, Mr. Bang learned from relevant channels that Musk tweeted that "an upgraded version of FSD will be pushed to a wider range of users in the next two weeks." Although the scope of the update was not specified, Musk later added that Canada may also get the update in December.
Perhaps most people have a question: what is FSD? In fact, it is the abbreviation of the (Full Self Driving) software system. Of course, for the sake of simplicity and convenience in the article, Mr. Bang uniformly refers to it as: FSD system.
As early as October this year, Tesla has pushed the FSD Beta version to some users to test and improve the system. It is called a fully autonomous driving system, but the driver must control the vehicle at all times.
It is reported that in the latest FSD system, it has been able to realize the autonomous driving function in some urban scenes. Of course, there is another big change, from the previous 2.5D image recognition to 4D, adding depth prediction (Birdview mapping network) and time prediction (RNN processing occlusion, etc.).
In general, the FSD system has a relatively complete autonomous driving function, but it comes with a high optional price. Currently, the optional cost in the US market is $10,000, and in China it is 64,000 yuan. So the question is, will you pay for the FSD system? Everyone is welcome to discuss in the comment section.
