Soon, all pure electric vehicles , hybrid vehicles, fuel cell and battery-powered vehicles on public roads will need to make noises like internal combustion engine vehicles. To help automakers comply with this federal regulation, ECCO Safety Group has launched the Electric Vehicle Alert System (EVAS), according to foreign media reports. The EVAS system goes beyond the standard system and provides a customized sound library that can both ensure pedestrian safety and enable automakers to build a sound brand.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) of the United States has proposed minimum sound requirements for electric vehicles in the FMVSS 141 rule . Specifically, vehicles weighing less than 10,000 pounds (about 4535.92 kilograms) operating on public roads and public spaces need to emit a sound signal that is higher than the surrounding street noise when accelerating, decelerating, reversing and idling. The rule is intended to protect vulnerable pedestrians and reduce collision accidents caused by silent vehicle driving.

ECCO's EVAS system offers the most reliable speaker technology in the industry, producing 360-degree surround sound. The system has a wide frequency band (350Hz to 5KHz) and can be programmed to match a variety of tones. Visit the dedicated EVAS page to hear a variety of sound sample files, and ECCO will work with customers to develop a unique "sound". At the end of last year, electric car manufacturer Karma Automotive worked with ECCO to develop such sounds to give its luxury car brand a sound signature.

In addition, EVAS can be easily installed in passenger cars, autonomous vehicles or buses. Unlike other audible warning devices on the market, EVAS speakers are designed and tested according to ECCO standards and have passed the testing standards of multiple Tier 1 manufacturers. The system is resistant to corrosion, vibration, dust, salt water corrosion and moisture, allowing drivers and pedestrians to achieve consistent performance in a variety of environments or driving conditions.

Install it, plug it in and start designing your sound. The system's standard firmware setup is simple, and ECCO adapts to the proprietary CANBus architecture for seamless integration.
