Mouser Electronics  and Analog Devices have teamed up to introduce new transceivers in the AD242x Automotive Audio Bus ™ ( A2B ™) family into their distribution channels. Developed over three generations, A2B transceivers enable high-fidelity digital audio to be transmitted to advanced, multi-function automotive infotainment systems, reducing cable harness weight by up to 75 percent.

As an authorized distributor, Mouser Electronics is always committed to quickly introducing new products and technologies, helping customers design advanced products and bringing their products to market faster. More than 800 semiconductor and electronic component manufacturers bring their products to the global market through Mouser. Mouser only provides customers with fully certified original products and provides full manufacturer traceability.

A2B is a high-bandwidth digital bus that requires only a single unshielded twisted pair cable to transmit I2S audio and I2C digital control data along with clock and power over long distances. The AD242x transceivers distributed by Mouser Electronics expand the use cases of microphone connectivity and can be used for voice recognition, personalized audio zones, and active noise reduction in automotive, transportation, building technology, and consumer applications. These transceivers enable developers to customize system-level performance to meet stringent electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) requirements, including those specific to individual OEMs.

The transceiver can connect directly to general-purpose digital signal processors (DSPs), field-programmable gate arrays (FPGAs), application-specific integrated circuits (ASICs), microphones, analog-to-digital converters (ADCs), digital-to-analog converters (DACs), and codecs through a multichannel I2S/TDM interface (for models AD2428 and AD2429).

The AD242x A2B transceivers are available in a compact 32-lead 5mm × 5mm package and are fully pin-compatible, helping to reduce time to market and simplify upgrades. The advanced features of the A2B transceivers can significantly reduce overall system costs, making them ideal for applications such as autonomous transportation, hands-free/voice recognition, advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), conference rooms, small stage audio, advanced home theater, and automotive audio.
