According to foreign media reports, Cerence and HERE Technologies announced a partnership to integrate HERE's intelligent positioning solutions with the Cerence Drive product portfolio to create an advanced AI travel assistant for the automotive industry.

Building on their long-standing partnership, HERE and Cerence will continue to bring voice-accessible HERE maps, APIs (application programming interfaces) and point-of-interest (POI) data to global automakers, including Audi, BMW and Daimler. By voice-controlling HERE APIs such as EV charging, fuel, parking and weather forecasts, drivers can use natural language rather than specific commands to find the nearest EV charger or find indoor parking near their destination in bad weather conditions.
The voice solution uses AI to continuously learn the driver's preferences and habits to further customize the in-car experience. HERE also provides relevant data based on location information to provide a reference for the driver's preferences, allowing the system to provide more targeted suggestions. For example, when the system detects that the driver frequently goes to a 24-hour gas station to refuel diesel, the voice assistant will provide suggestions based on such preferences. In addition, HERE has also integrated 3D maps into Cerence's multimodal in-car experience, allowing drivers to interact with points of interest outside the car through eye tracking and voice recognition.
“As mobility assistants continue to grow, accurate location information is essential for drivers to fully utilize these products and their capabilities,” said Jørgen Behren, chief product officer at HERE. “We are excited to collaborate with Cerence to create voice-driven, multimodal vehicle experiences that improve vehicle efficiency and safety.”
“Through this collaboration, we will further optimize the end-to-end performance of our mobility assistant and enhance the user experience,” said Stefan Ortmanns, executive vice president and general manager of Cerence Core Automotive. “HERE’s rich map and point-of-interest data is essential to enhance the driver’s daily mobility experience.”
