According to foreign media reports, on June 25, local time, autonomous driving software company Renovo announced a partnership with Seagate Technology plc, a leading provider of data storage solutions, to advance Renovo's autonomous vehicle data management and coordination efforts. In the coming weeks, Renovo will launch a new product in this area.

In just one day, autonomous vehicles generate as much data as the Hubble Space Telescope does in an entire year. Given bandwidth limitations, it is impractical to feed this data into cloud-based storage in real time, so maintaining local vehicle data persistence is key.

Renovo has successfully built the Aware platform and plans to announce details about other projects in the coming weeks. This collaboration with Seagate Technology will allow Renovo to use Seagate Technology's data storage solutions in all areas of its autonomous driving fleet.

Renovo’s platform currently powers fleets of highly automated vehicles operating on public and private roads by companies such as Voyage.auto. Seagate Technology joins Renovo’s ecosystem, which also includes various autonomous driving travel technology providers such as Samsung, Verizon, HERE, Velodyne, Parsons, INRIX, Argus Cyber Security, Affectiva, Phantom Auto, Metamoto, Understand.ai, NIRA Dynamics and Bestmile.
