Recently, after more than five months of construction, the Zhanhuang Energy Storage Power Station, a civil engineering project of the Qinghai Huadian Haixi Togeruoge 259,000 kW x 4-hour energy storage power station undertaken by China Power Construction Qinghai Institute, was successfully put into operation. As the largest single energy storage project in Qinghai Province, the commissioning of this project indicates that our institute has made significant progress in the field of energy storage projects. It has laid a solid foundation for further construction management of energy storage projects in the future and provided strong impetus in the feasibility study preparation, survey and design, and construction of energy storage projects.
Zhanhuang Energy Storage Power Station is located in the Export Photovoltaic Thermal Industrial Park in Delingha City, Haixi Prefecture. It is the largest intelligent shared energy storage power station built and put into operation in high-cold and high-altitude areas. As a supporting project for Huadian Qinghai Delingha's 1 million kilowatt photovoltaic storage and 3MW hydrogen production project, the power station uses an outdoor prefabricated cabin lithium iron phosphate battery energy storage system and a zinc-bromine liquid flow battery energy storage system. It is currently the largest electrochemical energy storage project put into operation in China at one time. The total construction scale of the power station is 270MW, with a supporting capacity of 1080MWh, a total of 8 energy storage areas and 56 energy storage units, and it is expected to provide about 300 million kilowatt-hours of clean energy each year.
Party building leads construction, and safety comes first. As the first energy storage unit project that the institute has won the bid for, the institute’s Party Committee attaches great importance to it, and has scientifically formulated design and construction plans and made careful arrangements. Faced with tight schedules and arduous tasks, the institute organically integrates party building work with engineering construction, promotes learning and work, strictly enforces safety, ensures civilized construction, implements the institute’s HSE requirements, ensures zero-accident projects, and promotes the integration of party building with safety, quality, and technical management. The institute demonstrates the solid style and excellent quality of the Qinghai Institute in engineering construction, and ensures the smooth completion and commissioning of the project.
As a supporting project for Huadian Qinghai Delingha 1 million kilowatt photovoltaic storage and 3MW hydrogen production project, the project will improve the level of new energy consumption in Delingha, reduce the risk of power grid operation, and ensure the safe and reliable operation of the power grid. At the same time, the project is closely integrated with Qinghai's new power system planning, and designs a flexible control strategy for supply-side shared energy storage to achieve efficient consumption of new energy and actively support the improvement of power grid capacity, effectively improve the peak-shaving capacity of the regional power system and the flexibility of coordinated dispatch of sources, networks, loads and storage, and improve the stability of the power grid. It has far-reaching strategic significance for promoting the large-scale development and utilization of new energy, promoting the optimization of regional energy structure, and assisting the construction of Qinghai Province as a national clean energy highland, and building a new power system and a new energy system.
