On May 18, at the signing ceremony of major investment projects in Tongliang District, Chongqing, Wang Pengcheng, general manager of Xiamen Haichen, signed an investment agreement with Tongliang High-tech Zone on behalf of the company for the Xiamen Haichen Southwest Intelligent Manufacturing Center and R&D Center project. Zheng Xiangdong, deputy mayor of Chongqing, attended the signing ceremony. Before the signing ceremony, Hu Henghua, mayor of Chongqing Municipal People's Government, met with Wu Zuyu, chairman of Xiamen Haichen and his delegation.

New energy storage is an important technology and basic equipment for building a new power system. It is an important support for achieving the goals of carbon peak and carbon neutrality, and has great development potential. Accelerating the development of new energy storage industries is not only in line with the direction of industrial development in our city, but also conducive to building a flexible and efficient energy reserve peak-shaving system and promoting the optimization and adjustment of the energy structure. Xiamen Haichen has strong talent and technical advantages in the fields of green energy and new energy storage. It hopes to accelerate the implementation of energy storage lithium battery production bases and R&D center projects, focus on various application scenarios, actively carry out pilot demonstrations, and create supply chain leaders and industry benchmarks. Chongqing will fully support enterprises in project construction and business development in Chongqing, continue to create a talent ecology of "near and far" talents, and provide various service guarantees.
Wu Zuyu thanked Chongqing for its high attention and strong support for the development of enterprises in Chongqing. He said that thanks to the high-quality and efficient services of Tongliang District and relevant municipal departments, Xiamen Haichen's cooperation projects in Chongqing have been smoothly promoted in the early stage, which will accelerate the implementation of the projects and attract more upstream and downstream enterprises in the energy storage lithium battery industry chain to develop in Chongqing, and contribute to the high-quality development of Chongqing.
Xiamen Haichen Southwest Intelligent Manufacturing Center and R&D Center project has a planned total investment of 13 billion yuan and plans to use 1,200 acres of land. It will build a 50GWh new generation energy storage lithium battery production base and R&D center. The project is expected to be completed and put into production gradually before 2024.
Wang Pengcheng, general manager of Xiamen Haichen, said in an interview with reporters that in recent years, Tongliang District has attached great importance to the development of strategic emerging industries, actively cultivated and expanded emerging industries such as new energy and new materials, expanded and extended the new energy industry chain, planned industrial layout, and made every effort to build a new energy industrial park. During the preliminary investigation, the Xiamen Haichen planning team communicated smoothly with the Tongliang District Government on industrial development trends and corporate service supporting systems. Most of the views and ideas coincided, resulting in a resonance effect, which facilitated the rapid signing and implementation of the project, reflecting the Tongliang speed.
