Since 2019, China Southern Power Grid has invested 10 billion yuan to start the construction of "Digital Southern Power Grid", building various interconnection platforms for industry chain participants such as governments, equipment manufacturers, energy producers, distribution and sales e-commerce, energy value-added service providers, and energy end users.
Market insiders pointed out that State Grid Information and Communication (600131.SH) has previously demonstrated to the outside world the integrated application of digital cutting-edge technologies such as edge computing, 5G, and artificial intelligence in the power industry, and China Southern Power Grid Technology (688248.SH) has just completed its IPO. The core technology assets of the two major power grid central enterprises have been capitalized and are expected to become the core targets of this track. Digital transformation is not achieved overnight. It requires infrastructure construction, data collection, data learning and other processes, and the corresponding software and hardware need to be applied to the power grid. In addition, the weak link in the digital transformation of power grids lies in network security. The above-mentioned person believes that "with the application of big data, cloud, Internet of Things, mobile, intelligence, and chain technologies in the field of power grids, a large number of heterogeneous terminals have been connected to the power grid, blurring the network boundaries of the power grid and making data interactions diversified. At the same time, since the existing protection system has not been able to fully cope with the gradually escalating attack methods and security risks, the network security issues of digital power grids will also become one of the main challenges in the future."
