China Energy Storage Network News: The reporter learned from China Southern Power Grid Company on the 8th that the power load in Guangdong, Guangxi and Hainan has reached a new high this year. The power department urgently mobilized units to generate electricity and arranged for projects to resume power in advance to increase power supply. At the same time, it temporarily canceled line maintenance to increase power transmission capacity.
According to China Southern Power Grid, as of 17:00 on the 7th, the peak loads in Guangdong, Guangxi and Hainan reached 107 million kilowatts, 23.33 million kilowatts and 5.04 million kilowatts respectively, all up more than 20% from the same period last year. Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Dongguan and Foshan also recorded the highest power loads this year, all exceeding 10 million kilowatts.
To ensure power supply, China Southern Power Grid Company urgently dispatched peak power generation from effective units in Guangdong Province to ease the pressure of tight power supply. On May 5 and 6, China Southern Power Grid made overall arrangements to dispatch 25 units with a total capacity of nearly 8 million kilowatts in Guangdong Province, adding 13.84 million kilowatts of coal-fired units and 3.29 million kilowatts of gas-fired units compared with before May 1.
At the same time, we optimized the maintenance strategy, completed the maintenance of key power transmission channels in Guangdong ahead of schedule, and restored power in time. We arranged for the Xindong DC project from Yunnan to Guangdong to restore power ahead of schedule, increasing the support capacity for Guangdong by 2.5 million kilowatts. We also canceled some maintenance of the main channel in Guangdong to improve the transmission channel capacity. Currently, Yunnan, Guizhou, and Guangxi are supporting Guangdong at their maximum capacity, and the power sent from the west to Guangdong has increased by nearly 9 million kilowatts compared to before May Day.
Apart from the high temperature factor, the increase in power load shows the strong momentum of economic development. Power consumption data show that the resumption rate of enterprises in Guangdong is over 85%, and the resumption rate of production is over 99%. The power consumption of the secondary industry exceeded the same period last year in April, and the power consumption of the tertiary industry is also recovering rapidly.
