Wu Peng, stationmaster of the ±800 kV Lingzhou Converter Station of State Grid Ningxia Electric Power Maintenance Company, wrote in the station's WeChat work group.
The Lingzhou-Shaoxing ±800 kV DC project is the first UHV DC transmission project in Ningxia, the Ningxia-Shandong ±660 kV DC project is the world's first ±660 kV DC transmission project, and the Shahu 750 kV substation is responsible for the power transmission of the Yikezhao-Linyi ±800 kV DC transmission project to the Yikezhao converter station, forming the third channel for Ningxia's power transmission. These three DC channels "bundle" the thermal power of Ningxia's coal base and the hydropower of the upper reaches of the Yellow River in the form of DC transmission to economically developed regions such as Shandong and Zhejiang, realizing the DC interconnection of the Northwest Power Grid and the North China Power Grid, and are important projects in the national "West-to-East Power Transmission" strategy.
Zhang Jing, director of the trading department of Ningxia Power Exchange Co., Ltd., said that with the recent return to work across the country, electricity consumption in East China has gradually increased. State Grid Ningxia Electric Power Company closely tracks the changes in electricity load and external power demand during the epidemic in important power-purchasing provinces such as Zhejiang and Shandong to ensure the maximum implementation of the inter-governmental power transmission agreement. Since the outbreak of the epidemic, these three power transmission channels have transmitted a total of 6.19 billion kWh of electricity, providing a powerful power engine for accelerating the resumption of work and production in East China.
As one of the fastest channels for peak load regulation in the power grid, DC lines play an important role in absorbing load fluctuations. During the epidemic prevention and control period, in order to reduce the risk of infection caused by the flow of personnel, the ±800 kV Lingzhou UHV Converter Station and the ±660 kV Yinchuan East UHV Converter Station of the State Grid Ningxia Maintenance Company implemented fully enclosed "wartime management" to ensure the realization of the goals of "zero suspected" and "zero confirmed" personnel in the converter stations.
