State Grid New Energy Cloud (hereinafter referred to as New Energy Cloud) is one of the 27 key tasks of the State Grid Corporation of China's ubiquitous power Internet of Things construction plan in 2019. The platform is the company's first open service platform that runs through the core processes of the company's main business and is the specific manifestation of the ubiquitous power Internet of Things.
The platform strengthens the whole process management of new energy internally, standardizes relevant standards, optimizes business processes, promotes "delegation, regulation and service", and improves management quality and efficiency; externally, it serves the national energy transformation, assists governments at all levels in decision-making, promotes the scientific development of new energy, creates a good business environment, drives the development of the new energy industry, and serves related think tanks and customers. The overall technical framework and functional services of the platform have been widely recognized by all sectors of society.
As an industrial unit responsible for the company's emerging business areas and cultivating new profit growth points, State Grid E-Commerce Company has successively built important Internet platforms such as State Grid Mall, Dian E Bao, and Photovoltaic Cloud Network, providing strong support for the construction of ubiquitous power Internet of Things, and undertakes the research and development and operation of new energy cloud with a good technical foundation and operation experience.
Realize comprehensive energy use smart services for the entire industry chain
Under the guidance of the State Grid Development Department, the Party Committee of the State Grid E-commerce Company attached great importance to it, coordinated internal and external resources, responded quickly, promoted in a coordinated manner, and focused on tackling key problems. It conducted research, design, research, development, testing, and verification, and constantly explored in practice. It formed a software development team and provided a 3,000-square-meter "design, research, development, and testing" software and hardware office environment. It implemented responsibilities and clarified the division of labor. It held more than 200 coordination and promotion meetings and organized 143 demand surveys. In accordance with the "5+2" and "997" working mechanisms, it comprehensively carried out platform development and technical breakthroughs, and quickly formed a "command center + research and development base + verification base" "one center and two bases" collaborative combat system. It implemented a two-way interactive mechanism of "on-site research and verification, mid-stage demand design, and back-end research and development debugging" to comprehensively ensure the solid and steady progress of the project, and complete the platform's pilot launch in Ningxia as scheduled, laying a solid foundation for the next step of promotion and application.
The New Energy Cloud team combines the successful experience of energy e-commerce, complies with the technical requirements of the company's business middle platform and data middle platform, and innovatively adopts the "big middle platform + small front desk + microservice" technical architecture, uses the Internet of Things technology to establish a perception layer service system, uses blockchain technology to innovate transaction settlement models, uses agile development and gray release technology, and draws on Internet thinking to meet the application needs of different entities. Especially in the early research work, the team fully considered the different needs of government agencies, power generation companies, new energy companies, power grid companies and various load users, and went to Tsinghua University, Huawei, GCL Group, Goldwind Technology, Electric Power Planning and Design Institute, Photovoltaic Association, Wind Energy Association and other units for discussions and exchanges, and finally formed a shared service architecture based on 15 sub-platforms. The 15 sub-platforms of the New Energy Cloud are designed and implemented in a modular manner based on the cloud platform architecture, innovatively constructing a new ecosystem of "Internet + New Energy" shared services, fully embodying the characteristics of "hub, platform, and sharing", and serving the entire process of new energy planning, construction, grid connection, operation, trading, and settlement internally, creating an open and shared new energy service system, and realizing "one source for data, one map for the power grid, and one line for business"; externally, it provides one-stop full-process services such as policy consulting, new technologies, grid connection registration, operation and maintenance monitoring, financial insurance, and settlement and trading.
Through sub-platforms such as resource distribution and consumption calculation, the potential for new energy resource development is analyzed, the new energy consumption capacity of each region is calculated, the demand for new energy access, transmission and consumption is met, and better decision-making references are provided for the government to formulate new energy development plans and industrial plans. Relying on the information interaction of sub-platforms such as power users, manufacturer users, and new technologies, convenient services are provided for the declaration, equipment procurement, and construction of new energy power generation projects, realizing the "source-grid-load-storage" comprehensive energy use smart service. Relying on sub-platforms such as load users and big data analysis, information sharing is realized to promote investment openness, market openness, and value sharing.
Building a new energy ecosystem
At present, the new energy cloud has connected to more than 1.23 million new energy power stations, generating nearly 440 billion kWh of electricity, serving more than 3,000 upstream and downstream enterprises in the new energy industry chain, and directly or indirectly driving more than 1 million jobs. The platform was piloted in the State Grid Ningxia Power in May this year, and will complete the application trial operation of 14 provincial companies by the end of 2019, and will be fully launched in the company in 2020 and provide commercial operation services.
In order to continuously promote the iterative development of the platform, the State Grid E-commerce Company has established a new energy cloud implementation team, and has joined forces with 14 pilot provinces to overcome difficulties, break the traditional information platform service model, and innovate the internal and external service system through the "hub, platform, and sharing" characteristics. Accelerate the research and development of technologies such as blockchain and artificial intelligence, and provide market-oriented commercial operation services such as e-commerce, intelligent operation and maintenance, energy finance, and investment consulting to various users in the industry. Gather upstream and downstream enterprises and users in the industry, carry out online project transactions, equipment procurement and other businesses, and promote resource sharing. New energy companies can obtain the best policy guidance, the latest absorption capacity analysis, the best new energy planning site selection and grid connection solutions at any time and any place, at the lowest cost and the fastest speed, and realize the integrated online and offline services of new energy.
