On August 21, Shanghai Lingang Group sent a banner to State Grid Shanghai Electric Power Company to express its gratitude to State Grid Shanghai Electric Power for accelerating the implementation of relevant policies this year, doing its best to provide power support and power supply guarantee for a number of major projects such as Tesla, and helping Shanghai build a world-class business environment with high-quality services.
At present, the 220 kV power supporting project of Tesla's Gigafactory located in Lingang Industrial Zone of Pudong New Area has entered the critical stage and the project is progressing smoothly. The cable duct with a total length of 16.7 kilometers will be fully connected before September 10, and then the laying of cables with a total length of 55 kilometers will be completed. The overall power supporting project is expected to be ready for power transmission by the end of September.
In order to further build a modern marketing service system, create excellent power supply service projects, improve customers' electricity experience, comprehensively enhance the sense of gain of power supply services, and help Shanghai move towards a "global excellent city", State Grid Shanghai Electric has focused on the core demands of stakeholders in response to problems such as long investment time and difficult construction for high-voltage business expansion and installation. By standardizing high-voltage business expansion and installation services, customers can have fewer electricity procedures, shorter power connection time, and more reasonable access costs.
In the process of implementing Tesla's power supporting projects, State Grid Shanghai Electric provided proactive services, responded quickly to customer needs and intervened in advance, set up a special "power steward" for docking and communication, and solidified the docking and negotiation mechanism among all parties in the project, ensuring the smooth implementation of Tesla project construction, temporary power supply for equipment commissioning, and the 220 kV formal power supply project.
This year, State Grid Shanghai Electric Power actively promoted internal process reengineering and system and mechanism optimization, demanded efficiency from service innovation, and served the implementation of major projects. The company further reduced the project power supply links and effectively shortened the overall power connection time by promoting on-site joint survey mechanisms and integrated bidding for design and construction.
During the construction phase of the 220 kV power supply supporting project for Tesla's Gigafactory, State Grid Shanghai Electric Power overcame difficulties such as long external lines, poor working environment, complex construction site, and difficult coordination. Through segmented operations and overlapping construction, it fully utilized the working surface and time intervals, and actively coordinated and optimized the connection with other pipeline construction to shorten the construction period to the greatest extent. The overall power connection time of the project is expected to be no more than 159 working days, which is about 50% shorter than the average power connection time for customers of the same size, and about 30% shorter than the fastest power connection time of similar projects in the past.
On the morning of August 17, the 220 kV incoming line of the 220 kV main step-down station of SMIC completed the power transmission work and officially entered the operation state. The SMIC project is a major industrial project in Shanghai. It is located in Zhangjiang High-tech Development Zone, Pudong New Area. It applied for two 220 kV power supplies, each with a 100,000 kVA transformer. The company is one of the world's leading integrated circuit chip companies and the largest and most technologically advanced integrated circuit chip manufacturing company in mainland China. The project passes through the main urban roads in Pudong, with high technical difficulty and high construction requirements. It also involves multiple operating stations, and it is difficult to organize and coordinate power outages. State Grid Shanghai Electric took the initiative to provide door-to-door service docking, selected capable forces, and assigned account managers to track the service throughout the process; strengthened the procedural supervision and control of each process of the project, and all professionals worked closely together and closely connected, and made every effort to shorten the project cycle under the condition of meeting the construction conditions. At the power transmission acceptance meeting, SMIC expressed appreciation and gratitude to State Grid Shanghai Electric for its measures in power supply services.
