Appendix: Introduction to the “Energy Internet Demonstration Project for Megacity Power Grids”

As one of the first batch of "Internet +" smart energy demonstration projects of the National Energy Administration, the Guangzhou Power Supply Bureau Co., Ltd. of China Southern Power Grid is leading the implementation of the project. Through "1+3+3" (i.e., 1 "Internet +" smart energy comprehensive service platform, 3 smart parks, and 3 innovative business formats), the project covers the core elements of the energy system of megacities, realizes 4 business models based on Internet value discovery, electric vehicles, flexible resources, and comprehensive energy services, covers the core elements of the energy system of megacities, and builds Guangzhou into an "efficient, green, shared, and innovative" energy Internet smart city, achieving the four core goals of "efficient use of comprehensive energy, green and low-carbon sustainable development, coordinated sharing of flexible resources, and win-win business innovation".

The project has achieved a number of innovative results in exploring key technologies for urban multi-energy systems. The Conghua Pearl Industrial Park Multi-Interaction Project has built a reliable, clean and efficient integrated energy system within the park through orderly production, waste heat recovery, waste heat refrigeration and other technologies; Sino-Singapore Knowledge City has achieved full coverage of four-network integration and three-meter collection, and has piloted the construction of smart homes; the Nansha smart microgrid project has improved the grid's ability to adapt to climate change and resist natural disasters; the smart street lamp demonstration project has achieved "one pole for multiple uses" and supported the construction of Guangzhou's smart city.

The project unit worked with the government, telecommunications operators, power generation groups, and automobile companies to promote project construction, and the results were recognized by the government, users, and stakeholders. The project explored emerging business forms such as multi-user interaction, four-network integration, vehicle-network collaboration, base station energy storage, and smart street lights, and proposed concepts, methods, and business models for co-construction, sharing, and co-governance, which are scalable and have important demonstration significance for promoting the construction of the energy Internet.
