On April 28, under the guidance of the China Electricity Development Promotion Association, the Ubiquitous Power Internet of Things Industry Ecological Alliance was established in Beijing, jointly initiated by the State Grid Information and Communication Industry Group, Huawei, Tencent, Baidu, Tsinghua University, North China Electric Power University and other upstream and downstream enterprises, research institutes, and universities. The alliance will help investment and market opening, attract more social capital and various market players to participate in the construction and value mining of the energy Internet, and drive the common development of the upstream and downstream of the industrial chain.

Industrial ecological thinking promotes ubiquitous power Internet of Things

Chen Jiangang, Director of the Information Department of the General Administration of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission, pointed out at the Ubiquitous Power Internet of Things Industry Ecological Alliance Conference with the theme of "Ubiquitous Power Internet of Things, Collaborative Industrial Development" that the State Grid's "Three Types and Two Networks" strategic goal reflects the development trend of my country's power companies to accelerate the transformation to digital intelligence and customer value-driven. The establishment of the Ubiquitous Power Internet of Things Industry Ecological Alliance is conducive to giving full play to the advantages of the China Electricity Development Promotion Association and the State Grid Communications Industry Group, actively deploying the functions of market entities, strengthening the construction of industry standards, optimizing the layout of intellectual property rights, and accelerating the transformation of scientific and technological achievements. It has positive significance for promoting the coordination of social capital, small and medium-sized enterprises, and upstream and downstream of the industrial chain to achieve social shared development.

Zhu Xiumei, deputy director of the Science and Technology Department of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, put forward three initiatives for the development of the Internet of Things industry: adhere to innovation-driven development to stimulate inherent potential; promote industrial integration and promote large-scale application; consolidate the foundation of industrial security and improve the level of protection.

Wei Xiaojing, deputy director of the State Grid Internet Department, said that the company has released the outline and plan for the construction of the ubiquitous power Internet of Things, and will focus on promoting six aspects, 57 construction tasks and 25 comprehensive demonstration projects. The overall construction task is time-sensitive and heavy, requiring upstream and downstream to work together and pool their wisdom. At the same time, it will encourage enterprises, universities, and research institutions to participate together to create an energy Internet industry ecosystem of consultation, co-construction, sharing, and win-win.

"The establishment of the Ubiquitous Power Internet of Things Industry Ecological Alliance is the concrete practice to promote the construction of the industrial ecosystem. It will help promote the construction of the entire industrial chain of the ubiquitous power Internet of Things, and promote well-known domestic and foreign companies, universities, research institutions, etc. to establish a normal cooperation mechanism, integrate upstream and downstream industrial chains, build internal and external industrial ecology, and drive industrial aggregation growth." Wei Xiaojing said.

You Min, executive vice president of the China Electricity Development Promotion Association, said that with the deepening of the market-oriented reform of the power industry and the increasing integration of informatization and automation, cross-border competition and cooperation will become the norm in the future. Building a cooperation platform and cultivating an industrial ecosystem will be an important way for companies to enhance their market competitiveness in the future. The establishment of a ubiquitous power Internet of Things industrial ecological alliance will give full play to the comprehensive integration advantages of different market entities, different ownership structures, and different technical fields, which will have a far-reaching impact on the implementation of the State Grid's "three types and two networks" strategy and the promotion of the exploration and practice of new formats, new models, and new services in the power industry.

Li Qiang, general manager of State Grid Information and Communication Industry Group, pointed out in his welcome speech that in the Internet era, only win-win cooperation can lead to long-term development. The ubiquitous power Internet of Things will become the Internet of Things ecosystem with the most connected devices, thus forming a large ecosystem with full-time connection, full-area coverage, and interconnection of all things, continuously releasing huge industrial transformation capabilities and social driving forces, and leading the energy industry to achieve high-quality development.

Advanced information technology promotes the integration of the two networks

As the "neural network" of the energy Internet, information and communication will play a key role as a carrier and service support for hub-type, platform-type, and shared enterprise construction and management innovation practices, the continuous improvement of the automation and intelligence level of strong smart grids, and the top-level design, infrastructure construction, and functional expansion and application of the ubiquitous power Internet of Things.

Xue Yusheng, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, believes that the stable operation of the power system is affected by information elements such as big data collection, deep knowledge mining, and information security, physical elements such as emissions and pollution, natural disasters, and social elements such as market regulation, gaming behavior, and crisis management. The integration of smart grids and ubiquitous power Internet of Things is an indispensable support for energy transformation. In an open market environment, the research framework of the power system should add social elements on the basis of the energy information-physical system and establish a research framework for the energy information-physical social system.

"The power Internet of Things is the application of the Internet of Things in the smart grid. Improving quality and efficiency, interconnection and sharing, technological innovation, and ecological co-construction are the development trends of comprehensive energy services under the ubiquitous power Internet of Things." Zeng Ming, director of the Energy Internet Research Center of North China Electric Power University, proposed that the ubiquitous power Internet of Things is no longer a traditional "secondary system". It must support both power transmission and distribution control business and competitive businesses such as comprehensive energy services. Therefore, in terms of physics, data information should be shared to build a unified data sharing platform for the integration of the "two networks"; in terms of operations, control business and competitive business should be separated, and investment and cost recovery should be achieved through different value recovery channels.

Sun Dedong, deputy general manager of State Grid Information and Communication Industry Group, believes that judging from the development trend, the Internet of Things has become a new production and consumption model. The massive data generated has become a new means of production and has driven the extensive participation of social resources. It is increasingly becoming a core element of value creation and a new driving force for economic development.

“Multi-station integration” can achieve large-scale development

Sun Dedong proposed that the construction of ubiquitous power Internet of Things mainly involves "four main lines and two guarantees": promoting internal management and quality and efficiency improvement through optimization and improvement of marketing and distribution, driving business development and ecological construction through the construction of a smart energy comprehensive service system, promoting data sharing and value mining through the construction of a data middle platform, supporting basic applications and ubiquitous Internet of Things through the construction of a smart Internet of Things system, ensuring application innovation through breakthroughs in "State Grid Core" and smart terminal technology, and ensuring business development through the construction of a full-scenario security protection system.

Yuan Fusheng, deputy general manager of the Beijing branch of State Grid Information and Communication Industry Group, pointed out that "multi-station integration" is an important measure to support the construction of the "three types and two networks" of State Grid. As an essential facility for the construction and integration of the "two networks", the "multi-station integration" data center can achieve large-scale development, and edge computing will become its development direction. Moreover, the "multi-station integration" data center has huge commercial and market value, which can form important new businesses and new formats of ubiquitous power Internet of Things, drive the rapid development of the edge computing industry, and simultaneously enable the development of industrial Internet of Things, AI, 5G and other industries.

Li Qiang said that State Grid Information and Communication Industry Group will give full play to the advantages of the entire industrial chain of "cloud-network-edge-end-chip-intelligence" and the "one-stop" service provision capabilities of consulting, planning, design, construction, operation and maintenance, and provide high-quality products and technical services for the construction of ubiquitous power Internet of Things, and make positive contributions to the country's smart energy construction.
