DuPont Microcircuit Materials (MCM) recently launched a new generation of frontside silver metallization paste for solar cells, the DuPont Solamet PV16x series, which can improve the conversion efficiency of solar cells by 0.2-0.4% compared with the previous generation of products and is suitable for different printing line widths. In addition, DuPont also launched Solamet products suitable for building integrated photovoltaic (BIPV).
In addition to increasing the solar cell conversion rate by 0.4%, the DuPont Solamet PV16x series also has a number of features to adapt to various printing conditions, including being applied to fine-line processes below 80μm, which can print a better aspect ratio; and printing with line widths above 100μm has better efficiency performance than the previous generation of products. In addition, the Solamet PV16X series is also suitable for shallow junction processes (shallowemmitters/85ohms/sq) and presents a lower series resistance.
In addition, DuPont Microcircuit Materials has also launched Solamet conductive paste products suitable for building integrated photovoltaic (BIPV), which are suitable for colored solar cells, taking into account both aesthetics and efficiency, and providing greater freedom in the design of high-performance building integrated photovoltaics.
According to Zheng Xianzhi, president of global operations of DuPont Microcircuit Materials, it has been 20 years since DuPont launched the first conductive silver paste product for solar cells in the 1990s. During this period, the efficiency of crystalline silicon (c-Si) solar cells has increased from the earliest 10% to the current 16% of polycrystalline silicon, and even single crystal cells can reach a power generation efficiency of more than 18%. In this continuous improvement process, DuPont Solamet conductive paste system will play a key role and will also help realize the vision of grid parity in the future.
