State Grid develops mobile photovoltaic power station to solve the electricity problem of nomads

In response to the electricity problems of nomadic herders caused by frequent migration, the State Grid Corporation of China organized its China Electric Power Research Institute to successfully develop a mobile photovoltaic power station suitable for the herders' electricity needs, and carried out demonstration applications in Xiahongke Township, Golog Prefecture, Qinghai Province, achieving good results, providing a new and effective solution for power supply to nomads and areas without electricity.

The mobile photovoltaic power station adopts a modular design concept and consists of mobile photovoltaic modules and an integrated control box. The scale of the demonstration power station put into operation this time is 5 kilowatts peak, and the average daily power generation is about 20 kWh. According to the calculation of about 200 watts of electricity load per household of 4 people per day, it can meet the living electricity needs of 15 households and 60 people; the cost is about 60,000 yuan/kilowatt peak, that is, an average of 5,000 yuan per person can solve the electricity problem of nomadic life. The power station is easy to disassemble and transport, and can meet the needs of non-professionals and nomads for rapid assembly and disassembly. The power station can also be used in places where electricity is used, such as earthquake relief, border outposts, and remote temples.
