Hainan Province can develop solar thermal power generation technology

The 2010 Sanya International Forum on Solar Thermal Power Generation Technology was recently held in Sanya. More than 300 experts, scholars and corporate representatives from South Korea, the United States, France and China in the field of solar thermal power generation technology gathered in Sanya to discuss the progress of solar thermal power generation technology and the prospects for industrialization.

At the forum, Chinese and foreign guests believed that solar thermal power generation technology is an inevitable choice for developing a low-carbon economy and low-carbon technology to achieve sustainable development. Hainan, which has abundant solar energy resources, can become a base for solar thermal power generation technology research and development and project demonstration based on further solar energy resource assessment.

At present, solar thermal power generation technology has not yet been industrialized in China, and there is no solar thermal power generation station that can be built and operated industrially across the country. Experts suggest that various forms of solar energy technology should be developed to build a sustainable energy system.
