Is there any expert in the group who can explain the principle of sliding mode observer? [Copy link]

Recently, I have read the libraries of TI and STM32. Regarding the sensorless part of permanent magnet synchronous motor, there is no open source for the position and angle estimation algorithm, and I don't know what algorithm STM32 uses. However, TI uses a sliding mode observer (SMO). Although there are many papers on the Internet about the sliding mode observer, I still have only a vague understanding of it. Is there any expert who can explain it to me?

No, it is a sensorless method, mainly for position estimation.
