What have you overlooked about the cow's origin?
"If you want to capture her heart, you must first capture her stomach." For the sake of her long-admired lover, Xiao E painstakingly studied many secret dishes, including the secret sauce beef. When Xiao E came to the meat and vegetable market to select ingredients, he was a little confused. The meat and vegetable market was far less bright than the large chain supermarkets. Although the meats on sale at the stalls looked normal, how could he tell their processing dates? How could he trace their origins?
The traceability of beef requires a complete meat and vegetable traceability system. From the time a cow is raised to the time it is slaughtered, to the processing plant, and then to the retail terminal, the information of each process will be recorded in a traceability card, and the traceability card will also record the quantity of this batch of beef.
At the retail end, meat and vegetable traceability is mainly achieved through traceability scales.
Traceability scales are also called traceability scales, network scales, radio frequency identification pricing scales, etc. Traceability scales are used as sales terminals to input, transmit, and record food safety information (such as inspection and quarantine information) and transaction information, and print quality traceability certificates (traceability codes) for consumers.
Common support functions of traceability scale:
l LCD, used for weighing, billing, pricing and other information display;
l RFID card reader, reads product circulation data such as traceability cards and identification cards;
l Micro printer, for printing receipts, traceability codes, etc.;
l Ethernet or 3G, WiFi function, access to the backend traceability system, query and interact with traceability data;
Schematic diagram of traceability scale design:
When beef enters the vegetable market, counter or supermarket, the information in the traceability card (origin, growth process records, production date, circulation links, inspection and quarantine information, etc.) will be entered into the traceability scale. When consumers weigh the beef with the traceability scale, every time a receipt is printed, the meat and vegetable traceability system data center will correspondingly reduce the amount of meat that can print receipts.
If a consumer buys a piece of traceable beef at a stall in the market but cannot get a receipt, it means that other non-traceable meat may have been mixed in with it in the previous sales. If encountering similar problems, the consumer needs to be cautious about the stall or the batch of meat.
Next time you go to the market, don’t forget to trace the origins of the meat and vegetables. If there is a traceability scale and the stall owner does not use it, pay more attention!
