From April 26 to 27, 2019, the annual STMicroelectronics STM32 Summit was held as scheduled in Shenzhen. According to final statistics, the actual number of participants reached 3,500, and the number of online participants reached a maximum of 50,000.
Because STM32 has been a great success in China, ST Microelectronics has attached great importance to this summit. Jean-Marc Chery, President and CEO of STMicroelectronics, came to Shenzhen directly from Europe after the quarterly investor summit. Also present were the directors of STMicroelectronics' digital, analog, sales and other global or Asia-Pacific departments. This is not only the top summit held by STMicroelectronics in China, but also the top event in the MCU industry.
ST CEO speaks at the conference
In the keynote speeches of this summit, not only did the senior executives from STMicroelectronics introduce the company's vision, MCU and sensor-related product planning, but more importantly, Ku Wei, Vice President of Alibaba Group and General Manager of Alibaba Cloud IoT Division, was invited as a special guest to introduce Alibaba's ecological construction in the fields of Internet of Things and edge computing. Cao Jindong, Marketing and Application Director of Microcontroller Division of STMicroelectronics China, also organized a roundtable discussion, including Microsoft Chief Technology Advisor Guan Zhen, Senior Vice President of Quectel Communications Zhang Dong, Vice President of R&D of Mobvoi Li Qin, and Senior Director of AMS Marketing and Application of STMicroelectronics Greater China and South Asia Wu Weidong, who discussed hot topics such as artificial intelligence and the Internet of Things.
Roundtable discussion
Jerome Roux, Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Asia Pacific at STMicroelectronics, also said that the unique DNA of the STM32 ecosystem is composed of two inseparable links, one is STMicroelectronics, and the other is all dear partners. "A vibrant ecosystem must require close participation and cooperation from everyone. In China, the STM32 community now has 100,000 members, which is very representative." Roux said.
In addition, during this summit, an STM32 (China) strategic partner awarding ceremony was held, and many close partners of STMicroelectronics were recognized by ST. As Cao Jindong said: "The development and success of STM32 is inseparable from the support of partners. Today we would like to take this opportunity to thank those partners who have contributed to the construction of the STM32 ecosystem. Without them, there would be no STM32 ecosystem today."
Company representatives received the award at the awarding ceremony
Arnaud Julienne, Vice President of Microcontroller and Digital IC Product Division and Online Marketing, Asia Pacific, STMicroelectronics, also said: "Partner culture has always been a very important part of ST. We have partners all over the world, but we also understand and cultivate the local market. STM32's strategic partners in China understand the Chinese market and have competitive advantages. We have worked closely with them for many years. Today's award ceremony is also a kind of official thanks and recognition."
Cao Jindong also said: "The partner award ceremony expresses the support given to us by partners in the past ten years, and gives confidence to the market. We will continue to strengthen the construction of the ecosystem. Customers can get support from ST not only from ST, but also from partners in the STM32 ecosystem, because we have a strong ecosystem and strong partners, who can provide customers with extra value far beyond ST itself."
Indeed, at the two-day summit, we not only saw many new technologies and training introduced by ST, but also more partners promoting products and services, and negotiating with industry colleagues. At the same time, on the ST Summit booth, more exhibits also came from partners. The
STM32 Summit is becoming more and more like a big stage. As long as you are exciting enough, you can definitely dance yourself out. “We spent six months planning this two-day event, which was tailor-made for everyone: our customers, partners and the friends who follow us online. It was an event that required passion, energy, time and creativity to pull off,” said Julienne.
Julienne didn’t wear suit shoes, but a pair of creative shoes developed by Japanese partner No New Folk Studio, which has built-in ST processing and sensor technology, and can automatically recognize steps using artificial intelligence.
