Now I am learning microcontrollers. There are two main models used in the entry kit: STC12C5A32S2 and STC12C4052AD. These two chips are comprehensive choices after considering many issues when I chose them. So this chip can complete most of the 8-bit microcontroller development. If you think the interface is not enough, you can also choose the 48-pin 5A60S2, which is the flagship chip in the current STC microcontroller.

[Dot matrix screen]
 
The dot matrix screen is a good display screen for letters and Chinese characters. It is usually 8*8. Chinese characters can only be displayed when it is composed of 16*16. Among them, 15088 and 07088 are commonly used, and red is almost the most common color because of its low cost. Friends who have the conditions can buy blue, which has a cooler display effect.

【Clock chip】
 
DS1302 clock chip is the most commonly used clock chip by electronic enthusiasts, because it has a lot of information and is cheap. When using 1302, you also need to add a backup battery and a 32.768kHz crystal oscillator. If you want to make some clocks, 1302 is a good choice.

【Voltage regulator chip】
 
M7805 is a voltage regulator chip that can convert 6~12V power supply into 5V power supply for microcontroller. If we use a 5V power supply or a 3-cell AA battery pack, we don't need this voltage regulator chip. But for safety reasons, it doesn't hurt to have 2. In addition, LM1117-3.3V outputs a stable 3.3V voltage, which is generally used for 3V microcontrollers.
