There are several benefits of using MCU for electrical products. Take the food processor as an example. First, it protects the motor. The most feared thing about motor products is long-term idling, which causes high temperature and fire. If MCU is used, the power supply can be immediately disconnected when idling occurs, thereby protecting the motor from damage and avoiding fire. Second, it starts the motor slowly: set the program to start the motor in PWM mode to avoid sudden high-speed operation and extend the service life of the motor. Third, it avoids unnecessary energy loss: the traditional food processor startup method consumes unnecessary energy. Using PWM startup can make the energy used in the appropriate place and avoid wasting electricity.

The history of energy-saving lamps
At the end of the 2007 EU Spring Summit, an agreement was reached that all incandescent lamps used in households would be replaced by energy-saving lamps before 2009; Australia and the United States also announced that they would gradually ban the use of incandescent lamps between 2010 and 2020, and all incandescent lamps would be replaced by energy-saving lamps.
With global warming and increasing energy shortage, energy conservation and consumption reduction has become an important issue worldwide. As a major producer of energy-saving lamps, 80% of its energy-saving lamps are exported to the European and American markets. We will introduce energy-saving lamps in the future, hoping to help everyone understand energy-saving lamps and do our best to save energy, reduce consumption, protect the environment, and build a harmonious society.
Five benefits of energy-saving lamps
1. High luminous efficiency: high efficiency and energy saving, huge benefits; under the condition of unchanged illumination, a 5W energy-saving lamp can directly replace a 25W incandescent lamp; an 85W high-power energy-saving lamp can replace a 500W incandescent lamp or a 250W mercury lamp, and the energy saving rate reaches 50%-80%.
2 Wide operating voltage: It can be instantly activated and work normally within the range of 100V-265V, with little pollution to the power grid.
3. Long service life: Under normal working conditions, it can reach 8000-10000 hours, which is 6-8 times the life of incandescent lamp and iodine lamp; compared with mercury lamp and sodium lamp, its service life is 2-3 times longer.
4. Good color rendering and activation performance: It completely solves the shortcomings of long activation and power-off reactivation time of mercury lamps, high-pressure sodium lamps and metal halide lamps.
5. Low temperature rise during normal operation: about 50℃ lower than mercury lamps and high-pressure sodium lamps.

Smart Meter
During the transmission of electricity, at least 10% of the electricity is wasted. In order to save energy, energy is now continuously produced in a "healthy" way. However, as long as it is transmitted using the traditional power system, this unnecessary waste cannot be avoided.
According to the forecast of the US Energy Information Administration, from 2005 to 2030, the annual power generation of developed countries will increase by 1-3%, while that of poor countries will increase even faster, with an average annual increase of 4%. The old power grid system obviously does not meet the requirements of an ecological society. In such a context, smart grids are beginning to be favored by more and more countries.
In the construction of smart grid system, the most important thing is to introduce "smart meters", which can record the real-time electricity consumption and transmit the information back to the power company. In recent years, as the cost of smart meters has become lower and lower, the idea of their widespread installation in ordinary households has become possible.
People can generate energy through solar devices. In addition to using it for their own homes, they can also generate excess energy and sell it back to the power system. They can also monitor the power consumption of home appliances in real time through iPhones, and reduce power consumption during peak hours.
According to statistics from ABI Research, there are 76 million smart meters installed worldwide, and this number is expected to grow to 155 million in 2013. In this regard, Enel, the largest energy company in Italy, is at the forefront. Since 2001, Enel has installed more than 30 million smart meters for its users.
With the continuous improvement of living standards and the continuous development of science and technology, people's functional requirements for "smart meters" will not stop at basic functions such as prepayment, accurate measurement, and data statistics. They are more looking forward to the emergence of highly intelligent "electricity meters" so that power companies can adjust at any time according to the demand and supply of electricity. Compared with the power company's method of large-scale blackouts, this adjustment method is obviously more reasonable.
This is both a golden opportunity and a huge challenge for instrumentation companies. It can be said that the electric energy meter industry has entered a new development space.
