NXP Creates CSO Executive Position to Underscore Commitment to Sustainability and Fair Business
Eindhoven, the Netherlands – April 19, 2022 – NXP Semiconductors NV today announced the appointment of Jennifer Wuamett as NXP’s first Chief Sustainability Officer . At the same time, Ms. Wuamett will continue to serve as NXP’s Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary to the Board.
As Chief Sustainability Officer, Ms. Wuamett is responsible for overseeing NXP's environmental, social and governance (ESG) and related risk programs and for publishing the company's annual sustainability report.
“The creation of the new CSO position underscores NXP’s continued commitment to responsible environmental, social and corporate governance practices to build a better, more sustainable world,” said Kurt Sievers, president and CEO of NXP. “Jennifer has more than four years of experience in NXP’s global leadership team and is familiar with the company’s business and corporate culture. Her passion and professionalism will further advance the company’s sustainable development.”
Ms. Wuamett has been an electronics industry professional for more than 20 years and has served as NXP’s Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary to the Board since 2018, responsible for global legal, governance, compliance and intellectual property affairs. In 2015, Ms. Wuamett joined NXP as the company’s Deputy General Counsel and Chief Intellectual Property Officer following its merger with Freescale. Prior to that, she was Freescale’s General Counsel and Chief Intellectual Property Officer. Prior to joining Freescale, Ms. Wuamett began working in Motorola’s legal department in 1997 with increasing responsibilities, focusing on intellectual property and complex transactions. Prior to joining Motorola, Ms. Wuamett was a private practice attorney and holds a Juris Doctor degree from Arizona State University and a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry and Biology from McDaniel College.
