Infineon Technologies AG has once again been included in the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index, making it one of the world's most sustainable companies. Infineon Technologies was one of 6 companies from 47 other semiconductor companies to be included in the global index. The list was published by RobecoSAM, a professional organization focused on sustainable investment.
“We are proud that Infineon has been listed in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index for the tenth time in a row as one of the most sustainable companies in the world,” said Dr. Sven Schneider, Chief Financial Officer of Infineon Technologies. “If a company wants to achieve long-term success, it is equally important to strive for excellent performance in terms of the environment and society. Infineon’s innovative solutions help reduce consumption and increase efficiency, making a positive contribution to addressing global challenges such as climate change.”
The Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI), jointly created by S&P Dow Jones Indices and RobecoSAM, selects the most sustainable companies from 61 industries. For investors who consider sustainability as a factor in their investment portfolios, the index is the industry's best benchmark.
Infineon is committed to improving resource efficiency in global production activities. Its sustainable products and solutions can achieve a reduction of approximately 56 million tons of CO2 equivalent over the entire life cycle. This is roughly equivalent to the annual electricity consumption of 86 million Europeans. With its products and solutions, combined with efficient production, Infineon has achieved a considerable environmental net benefit of reducing CO2 emissions by more than 54 million tons of CO2 equivalent.
The above data include the carbon dioxide emissions generated by global product production activities. Infineon has created considerable ecological net profit.
