MiR merges with AutoGuide Mobile Robots to develop more AMR solutions for users and consolidate global leadership
Two Teradyne companies merged into one, the new company was named MiR, with Walter Vahey as president

October 17, 2022, Shanghai - Mobile Industrial Robots (hereinafter referred to as: MiR) and AutoGuide Mobile Robots, two companies under Teradyne, have merged to form an AMR supplier, working together to delve into the field of autonomous mobile robots (Autonomous Mobile Robot - AMR) , which is also one of the fastest growing areas in the automation market today. At the end of September, the merged company was officially named Mobile Industrial Robots (MiR), and Walter Vahey, a Teradyne executive who has served for many years, served as president. The new company's headquarters will still be located in Odense, Denmark, which is also the location of the original MiR company's global headquarters since its establishment in 2013.
MiR develops and sells safe, collaborative mobile robots that help customers manage intralogistics easily and cost-effectively, freeing employees to do more valuable work. Previously, MiR's various models of AMR robots were able to support payloads and transportation tasks of up to 1,350 kilograms. Now, the new company can provide MiR's existing and potential customers with more types of AMR products and technologies, including higher-load AMR traction devices and forklifts. The maximum load of AMR traction devices is up to 7 tons. These solutions are Will be run using MiRFleet software.

MiR and AutoGuide Mobile Robots are both subsidiaries of Teradyne, a world-renowned automatic test equipment supplier. They have previously cooperated to explore ways to enable each other's AMR products to run on the same fleet management software. Vahey added: "Such close collaboration accelerates the merger process. Combining the two into one will improve MiR's internal development efficiency. In addition, using the same supplier and the same software system will also make the overall experience for customers and partners smoother." ”
Global business continues to develop rapidly
At this point, the new company has 450 employees, including 250 engineers. MiR AMR can automatically and safely pick up, transport and deliver pallets and various materials in highly complex environments, so it can safely and efficiently replace traditional AGV automatic guided vehicles, forklifts and pallet trucks.
After the merger, MiR's global distribution network has covered more than 200 partners. MiR is headquartered in Odense, Denmark, with regional offices in Boston, Holbrooke, New York, San Diego, Chelmsford, Massachusetts, Georgetown, Kentucky, Singapore, Frankfurt, Barcelona, Tokyo, Seoul and Shanghai.
