Imagination and Baidu PaddlePaddle create Model Zoo, an open source machine learning model library. The results of the "Hardware Ecosystem Co-creation Program" provide enhanced support for AI developers and SoC designers


Beijing, China - September 27, Imagination and PaddlePaddle jointly released the new Model Zoo model library. This important milestone in the cooperation between the two parties covers multiple types of artificial intelligence processing technologies, including image classification, image segmentation and object detection. These Model Zoo resources will support AI chip designers and system manufacturers focusing on the consumer, automotive and desktop server markets, and will be open sourced worldwide.


To support this launch, the two parties will host a "PowerVR+PaddlePaddle Model Zoo Model Deployment Practice" workshop on September 28 for developers and system application manufacturers who want to use Model Zoo resources.


Ma Yanjun, General Manager of Baidu AI Technology Ecosystem said: "Imagination is a world-renowned processor technology and IP supplier. Based on the PaddlePaddle deep learning open source framework and Imagination heterogeneous computing IP technology, the two parties will build an efficient and flexible software stack solution through joint definition and optimization. In the future, the cooperation between the two parties will gradually expand to application areas such as data centers, consumption and Risc-V."

We want to ensure that developers and manufacturers have access to the right tools for AI innovation. The AI ​​ecosystem we have jointly created will continue to leverage our advanced capabilities in AI computing to provide more support for software and SoC creators in the industry."


Imagination and PaddlePaddle continue to collaborate to combine the advanced algorithms and flexibility of PaddlePaddle software with the high-performance computing capabilities of Imagination’s heterogeneous AI accelerator cores. As part of the “Hardware Ecosystem Co-creation Program”, this model supports chip and application developers to create fully optimized solutions for a range of deep learning-based implementations.


Based on the resources accumulated by both parties in the fields of artificial intelligence over the years, the hardware ecosystem co-creation plan has progressed rapidly and quickly formed a number of verified and available models, including the EfficientNet model for image classification tasks, the HRNet model for image segmentation tasks, and the PP-YOLOE model for object detection tasks. Model Zoo aims to maintain and manage PaddlePaddle models verified by the Imagination Neural Network Computing SDK, including reference examples for model performance evaluation and model deployment.


The "PowerVR+PaddlePaddle Model Zoo Model Deployment Practice" seminar hosted by Imagination and PaddlePaddle on September 28 will provide new resources for a comprehensive understanding of artificial intelligence, covering the end-to-end workflow for deploying PaddlePaddle models on Imagination hardware.
