The successful coach will start a long-term cooperation with fischer from January 1, 2023. As one of the most well-known faces in football, Jürgen Klopp grew up near the fischer headquarters, so this cooperation brings him back to where his dream began. His father worked for the family company in Tumling in the northern Black Forest for nearly 35 years. The new partnership will make this story complete.
The 2019-2020 FIFA World Coach of the Year is coming home. "My relationship with fischer is not a traditional one. This is something that is close to my heart," said Jurgen Klopp. Since childhood, the fischer Group has played an important role in his life, as his father Norbert Klopp worked in the field service department of fischer for almost 35 years until 1998.
“We are very happy and honored to have one of the world’s best and most popular football coaches as our brand ambassador,” said Professor Klaus Fischer. “His mentality, values and professionalism are worth learning from. He will fit perfectly into our team and become a member of the fischer family.”
Jurgen Klopp and Professor Klaus Fischer have been in contact for many years. In front of Professor Fischer's office hangs a framed jersey signed by Jurgen Klopp, with the words "Klopp to Klaus" and a smiley face drawn by the coach himself next to the signature. In the past and present, he played for Borussia Dortmund and Liverpool FC, leading the team to win multiple domestic and international championships.
The long-term cooperation will officially begin on January 1, 2023 in Germany and worldwide. Jurgen Klopp visited the company with his wife Ulla on Monday (September 19, 2022), and Professor Fischer introduced the company to the employees. Afterwards, they had lunch with other employees in the company restaurant. "For me, it's a bit like coming home," said Jurgen Klopp. In this way, the beginning is also a return, which puts a perfect footnote to this story.
