Infineon Technologies acquires start-up Industrial Analytics to strengthen predictive analytics for machinery and industrial equipment


[Munich and Berlin, Germany, August 17, 2022] Infineon Technologies AG has completed the acquisition of Industrial Analytics, a startup based in Berlin, Germany, with the aim of strengthening its artificial intelligence software and services business for predictive analytics related to machinery and industrial equipment . Infineon has acquired 100% of the company's shares. Both parties have agreed not to disclose the specific amount of the transaction.

“Industrial Analytics has outstanding technical expertise in predictive analytics for industrial machinery and equipment using artificial intelligence,” said Peter Wawer, President of the Industrial Power Control Division at Infineon Technologies. “We plan to jointly expand Industrial Analytics’ business and offer Infineon’s industrial customers new AI solutions that complement our semiconductor portfolio.”


“This acquisition will accelerate our growth,” said Anja Vedder, co-founder and executive director of Industrial Analytics. “With Infineon, we not only have a strong business partner, but we also benefit from the system knowledge of this leading semiconductor technology company.”


The artificial intelligence solution developed by Industrial Analytics can analyze and monitor the vibration of equipment in the factory, and then make an assessment to detect major developments in potential problems early. Its AI solution can not only evaluate data for predictive maintenance, but also provide suggestions for operations such as routine maintenance.
