Mendix and Atos expand global partnership to help enterprises achieve decarbonization goals through low-code
•New cooperation agreement signed between Atos and Mendix extends more than a decade of strong collaboration with Siemens
•Atos uses low-code to accelerate hyperautomation, time-to-market, and infrastructure modernization, and improve processes in manufacturing, retail, public sector, telecommunications, and financial services industries
•Atos to drive low-code application development for digital transformation projects worldwide following new partnership
Beijing, China, May 5, 2022 - Mendix, a Siemens business, a global leader in enterprise-level low-code application development, announced that Mendix and Atos have signed an agreement to further expand their cooperation. The agreement authorizes Atos to use the Siemens low-code platform to drive the company's hyperautomation and decarbonization goals. This cooperation with Mendix strengthens the long-term, trusting relationship between Atos and Siemens and consolidates Atos' commitment to providing leading low-code solutions to global enterprises.
The agreement will authorize Atos to sell the Siemens Low-Code Platform in multiple regions where it conducts joint business with Siemens, including Asia Pacific, Europe, the Middle East and Africa, and the Americas.
Accelerate digitalization in manufacturing, retail, public sector, telecommunications and finance
Businesses are undergoing rapid transformation, and as business processes and operations become digitalized, more and more economic sectors and industries are looking to IT solutions to improve efficiency, optimize resources and increase revenue.
Atos will use the Siemens low-code platform to provide a wide range of application modernization services and strengthen its own industry expertise and capabilities. Through this cooperation, Atos will help enterprises and organizations to maximize the potential of low-code applications and meet the new needs of users in the manufacturing, retail, public sector, telecommunications and financial services industries for modern and fast services. With the help of Siemens low-code platform, Atos customers can now start complex, business-oriented digital projects without unnecessary investments in a wide variety of technologies and expertise.
Accelerating digital decarbonization
The agreement will also support Atos’ mission to advance the high-quality development of science and technology to ensure that business partners, customers and society at large can continue to prosper and develop in a digital and secure information environment.
Siemens' low-code platform can be integrated with existing components to develop software in a circular economy manner. Enterprises can complete service upgrades in one go through an application, avoiding the problem of large-scale transformation of existing facilities, allowing enterprises to "do more with less". Siemens' low-code platform is a cloud-native platform and supports containerized applications, so enterprises can deploy applications anytime, anywhere and scale to any scale.
Through the Siemens low-code platform, Atos can support its customers in developing low-emission applications, thereby contributing to global low-carbon emission reduction.
According to the Exponential Climate Action Roadmap developed by the World Economic Forum, digital technology can help reduce global carbon emissions by about 15% through digital solutions in the fields of energy, manufacturing, agriculture, transportation and traffic management, which is equivalent to one-third of the 50% carbon emission reduction target by 2030. Through this new agreement, Atos and Mendix will provide these industries with effective solutions to meet their decarbonization needs.
Atos is currently building industry-specific solutions based on the Siemens low-code platform to monitor, report and track real-time energy consumption and carbon emissions at 1,800 locations around the world.
Using low-code to drive transformation from legacy systems to a digital-first economy
Tim Srock, CEO of Mendix, said: “We are excited to build on our long-standing relationship with Siemens and Atos to create high-value services that further support companies’ hyperautomation and decarbonization goals. With a deep background in application modernization, Atos brings its expertise to create a clear blueprint for modernizing legacy systems. The Siemens low-code platform and Atos’ expertise are highly effective in accelerating this transformation, which is critical for companies looking to rebuild or transform legacy systems. Through this collaboration, Atos will help companies streamline processes and reduce the overall cost and time required for development work.”
Rakesh Khanna, Head of Digital Business at Atos, said: “In today’s fast-paced digital environment, this collaboration enables us to leverage the Siemens low-code platform to provide a more unique service across all the industries we serve and quickly adapt and respond to market changes and opportunities for our customers. We believe that by expanding our existing collaboration with Siemens, we will be able to better bring innovative solutions to companies looking to accelerate their digital transformation.”
